There is no right or wrong to this question as it can have different pronunciations.

Like how Godiva is pronounced as God-die-vah or God-dee-vah

or Boat is pronounced as Boat or Boot


I suppose if GIF is G-I-F then I should pronounce Ginger as Giin-ger
