All time shooter...

First FPS

For me it was Deus Ex. I got it free with my Creative Blaster soundcard.

The original Unreal Tournament. Hands down one of the best games ever.

I'd have to say Doom, it was my first PC game let alone my first FPS. Then after that Quake and etc...

Unreal tournament got me into PC FPS

But yeah Doom and Wolfenstein pretty much lead the pack for quite a while.

Unreal still taught me more valuable lessons: Circle Strafing comes to mind.

UT was really fun. i went to a college lan party this year and there was liek over 40 computers. it was gorgeous. i never had so much fun.

I skipped some of the pages but was disappointed that no one mentioned medal of honor allied assault as a favorite fps. My first fps game was the demo of cod I mentioned it at work and ended up borrowing a full copy from a co worker. A friend of mine played tournaments of mohaa so I got that game and played it through on even the hardest difficulty. I decided to try multi player and found I sucked. I got much better at it and could hold my own agianst my friends that were ranked number one on two or three of the ladders for the game.

since then I only play multi player games like battlefield 1942, battlefield 2, call of duty 3 all games I own and only ever played online never the single player.

while writing this post I opened mohaa and there are still 1140 servers running the game and 1020 players online at that time. The game was the last game EA put out that was done right, there was only ever one patch needed to improve multi player options and that was it. It wasn't a rushed beta game released to meet a deadline like BF2 was.

Anyone who plays Q3 and gets good at it should be considered a God. The BFG can destroy your filthy plasmids.
---- END QUOTES---

The original UT was the first FPS that really clicked for me, but first in my mind (and I can't believe no one's mentioned it yet) is Tribes, hands down. Since I played that I just can't go back to anything without some form of capture and hold/assault gameplay and some form of weapon/class selection.

TF2 really is the most dynamic and enjoyable shooter I've played. A class for any mood and fast gameplay.

But excluding that?

RtCW: Enemy Territory was a lot of fun.

QFT. i redownloaded it last night.
