Another way of saying, I feel old. :laugh:

Did anyone else here play the original DoD, 'back in the day?'
If so, what were your fav maps that you miss?
For me it's dod_saints, dod_switch, and dod_northbound!

Honorable Mentions:
Jagd was another fun one.

And one I forget the name, but there was an airplane int he middle that had to be captured. Gosh, there were a lot of fun maps!

Can't believe it's been almost 8 years since source was released! (Even Orange Box is approaching 6 years already!)

There was a snow map(everything was snow) that had 2 main bases and mountains with fog all around it that was the only map i would play as a kid. It was either snowbridge or snowbattle or something like that...it was awesome!

Caen was my number one favorite, closely followed by Avalanche.

Oh yeah!!!

I'd even help coordinate, get maps, whatever. (Personally for me, Fall is a better time of year then summer, but yeah, we can keep it in mind).

Don't remember one with all snow and a mountain, but I do remember some other good ones with snow, and yes, Caen was great too Mini.

I might install the old DoD tonight and see if I can't find a few....I assume there are still some servers out there....though last I checked, most played "Orange" (bare) maps for quick frag fests. Those are fun for like 15 minutes

I remember that event, the first and only time I've ever played the original DoD.
That maps are just... so dark.

Cmon von you remember the old maps so you cant be getting old, when you get to my age you will have forgotten most of them. But yes there was some good maps in the old dod.+

We definitely should get a bunch of eGO members together who have the original DoD and play it sometime. I'm saddened if such an event occurred and I missed it.

Ah dod_forest was a fun one Mad....and I think they did a remake of Hill FITMK, though I might be thinking of another one.

Oh, and thanks Easy_Kill, Flugplatz was the one with the plane I couldn't remember. I loved using the FG-42!!

I loved old school DoD.
Sniping was as easy as it gets. And nothing beat that bayonet.

Map wise though. My fav's were

1. Glider
2. Zalec
3. Caen

I wish there was a way for a remake of those first 2. Caen, i know is out there for source. And i used to toss it into my rotation a few years back when i was admin. Great map, even now. But its so massive you would need a full server.
