How long will this take and will I get my hotmail back too or do I need to go through reporting that as hacked too?

Yes but my hotmail is back under my control the steam account just hasn't been returned yet and the person on my account has been talking to my friends I have chat logs proof and yes I have submitted a steam support ticket.

But like how? Was it a free game link or like, they got your email then your steam. I really hope you find the person and put a hat in their ear.. with a shoe.. what.

This is the main reason I do not buy every single game through steam. I always purchase 1 hard copy of a game and activate it on steam that way if I needed to get my account back I could just send them a picture of the serial key for the CD I have.

Sorry to hear... It is a pretty helpless feeling with something gets hacked. Like everyone has said contact customer service follow the procedures and I'm sure everything will be back to normal soon. GL

I have hard copies of Skyrim and CSS. So I think if I need to take pictures and prove it that way it won't be hard. Just glad there is that option and hope I will have my account back before they decide to run off with my 160 items or get my account banned.

You get a cd key with the digital copies you buy. I have probably 300+ or so games on my account. So what I did is I took roughly 40-50 of those games and put the cd keys in a notepad file on my computer. If my account were to get hacked, just that alone is more than enough solid proof. I try to add new cd keys with new purchases as well every so often.
Ok heres what you should do.
1) Calm down, do not panic. It will make the situation a whole lot more complicated to explain
2) Run a virus scan with your anti virus to check for potential keyloggers
Should it find some thing make sure to remove it. Malware bytes is a good tool for removing dangerous software that has snuck into your computer. Make sure to run it in safe mode, which can be run if you press f8 repeatedly during start up and picking boot in safe mode from the menu that appears
3) Contact steam regarding your account and the games you have on it
4) Change passwords on the account(s) that were hacked into. I made a post in the tech forums about making safe passwords, located HERE
I sincerely hope you get your account(s) back and that all your steam content is still there

Also it could be a good idea to ask your divisional leadership to disable your admin or alltogether ban your account until you know it's no longer compromized. That way you won't get any issues with the perpetrators abusing your admin rights
