I havent even ran COD4 since a year or two after it was released. Server says it's running Version 1.7, is that punkbuster or something else?

EDIT: Nevermind, forgot it was patched. I'll try to download it and get it working beforehand :)

The version 1.7 is not punkbuster. It is what it says, the version of the game. I would suggest trying to connect to a eGO server a few hours before the scrim starts to make sure you don't get kicked for the wrong punkbuster/wrong patches. If this happens, PM me on the forums, steam, or vent and I can help you. Also, seeing that you have't played the game in a while, it may need some updating.
