Should I get this computer guys, it's in my budget and I really hate my 300 dollar laptop that uses a i3 processor. It's getting rusty right now cuz of a bad technician that did work on it last year.

If you guys have something else better for the similar or less price let me know please!!! I don't buy laptops online that is shipped home, instead store pickup is best for me.

Tnx to the computer savvy people out there who is willing to give advice!!

Since your not getting a dedicated graphics card at that price level, I would look for laptops using the New 4th generation intel processors. Their integrated graphics are leaps and bounds ahead of the old integrated graphics of the 3rd and 2nd generations.

If you need a laptop, I would try to look for one with a 4th gen Intel processor, but other than that the one you picked looks fairly good. It will obviously be at least a little bit better than the one you have now, so you can base it off of that aspect.

If you don't need a laptop though, building a <$700 PC wouldn't be too hard and it's possible to get much more out of it for the price..

ahh ty guys for that, didnt know fourth was that much better.

Ya i usually get laptops since I do need it when I move around or for school.

btw i know there is intel HD 4000 and 5000, does the fourth generation use 5000?

The computer looks nice and all, but the specs on it are kinda low. What everyone else said about the 4th Gen Intel processors is absolutely right that that would be your best bet with this budget.

But if you're willing to save up your money you could build yourself the perfect desktop rig for a few 100 more.

But if you want a good gaming computer with the portability of a laptop, ASUS's gaming line of laptops are top notch, however they do cost a pretty penny and will make a large dent in your wallet.

This is one of their newer models I believe.
The quality of parts you get from this one is that of a desktop rig and will operate as such.

1TB hard Drive. Good decision since dealing with PC gaming is really space abusive the more games you get. Typical high end games tend to be at least 8-12 gigs minimum in size, so a 500 GB hard drive would be too little space (Personal experience as proof) and 750 would be perfect. The TB gives you extra space for any other thing You might want to get into like Video editing or animation which are also space abusive. Pleeeeeenty of space.

Not only that, it has a Solid State Drive put in there as well so its boot time is a fraction of others.

16 GB of memory (A bit overkill but, hey, you never know.)

But most of all, a 3 GB NVIDIA Graphics Card. Not just an NVIDIA card, but their top of the line card that is just a total beast... If I didn't already have a laptop, I'd be saving my cash up for this thing until I could pay this thing off in a few months...But I'd have to get rid of that awful Windows 8

But its understandable that 1800 is a bit too much for a for a laptop, however if you did decide on this, I feel you wouldn't regret it.

For price though, your best bet would be saving your money up and building a decent desktop PC.

Hope this helps

hey sonic,
tnx for the detailed response.

I can't afford more than 800, but I will definately look into getting a fourth generation i7.
Think I will manage ok with the intel HD 4000 graphics card, as long as my laptop will tolerate video editing and most video games on decent to low settings.

And yes I am not looking forward to windows 8 ahah so I will probably install a windows 7.

You might find video editing difficult with the integrated graphics card. I had a couple computers with the Intel HD 3000, and that was absolutely terribad.

tnx again guys, i use HD 3000 right now i hear 4000 is a little better. Will look into exactly what version it was on that laptop on my first post.

The 4th gen processors are much better. You could even try to find one with the iris graphics. Those are the best!

"7. Improved graphics. Fourth-generation Intel Core processors will feature improved Intel HD Graphics (with the Intel HD Graphics 4200/4400/4600/5000 monikers). Higher-end CPUs will come with Intel Iris Graphics 510 or Intel Iris Pro 5200, which will improve 3D gaming performance across the board (Iris Pro promises gaming at resolutions such as 1,920 by 1,080, with moderate detail settings enabled). Other new features on Iris and Iris Pro graphics will include support for three-screen multimonitor setups, higher-than-1080p 2K and 4K HD, and support for WiDi 4.1 on laptops and all-in-one desktop PCs. WiDi 4.1 has better support for more receivers including smart TVs, touch support, reduced latency, and support for full resolution S3D. "

Tnx meg, it shipped early and after consistent failure of installing windows 7 on it I decided to accept windows 8.

Installing steam on it now and it runs super nice!!! I'm so excited to use software on it soon.
