So I am from the Counter Strike division and was thinking about coming over and playing some Battlefield but want to see what people think on if I should get BF3 or if people think I should just wait till October to get BF4.

Let me hear them opinions

Get BF3, it's on sale right now, I believe. Well, even if not at sale, it's decently priced at 20$. Why not get both, though?

BF3 is a great game and it will get you used to the battle style and tactics before BF4 is out. I may take a little bit for us to get servers launched for BF4 at the begining.. I duno lol.. so I would definately pick up BF3 if it's priced well.

I like the 20$ value.. I didn't look at prices yet.. Was just thinking about getting it but both sounds good for that price for sure.

20$ on Origin, and 15$ on Amazon

I agree with the other guys, I'd go ahead and pick it up, won't be till October till BF4 comes out and you can get some BF3 gametime in and get into the swing of battlefield and have good times in the process :D!!

Wait till you get your first knife kill.. it's awesome! :thumbup1:

Like Counter-strike, Battlefield has a lot of mechanics to learn and practice from using vehicles effectively to gun recoils and various tool and equipment mechanics. Since it's not your classic FPS with very carefully designed corridor levels, it's also a whole new ball of wax when it comes to strategy.

In short, get BF3 to be better prepared to do well in BF4 at release. :)

This is coming from someone who also came from competitive Counter-strike 1.6 with some Source and GO, and someone who's at the upper echelons of noob in the BF series. I played BF2 for a handful of hours only, then BC2 I played a bit more, but BF3 I've been playing a significant amount and it's where I really started taking time to learn the game.

You should definitely get battlefield 3, Just because bf4 comes out doesn't mean people won't still be on bf3.

That's why I was asking this because even though for example CS:GO is out so many still play CS:S all day (im a person for example that does lol)

People still play BC2.. so it's a sure thing they will still play BF3.

Wait till you get your four thousandth knife kill...it's still awesome! :thumbup1:

Totally get Battlefield 3. While I won't pressure you to leave your beloved Counter-Strike Division, you'll be hard-pressed to find a better group of guys to play with or a better game that manages to do everything that Battlefield does. Three months can be a long time to wait! ;)

Well I'm going to offer some different perspectives for you.... if you're like my Mom, and you're going for the cheapest deal, then just wait for BF4 because you can just pick up the skills and strategies you need along the way - it's just a video game, you don't need to make a life out of practicing it with Battlefield 3.

If you got free money to spend, by all means, buy BF3 and BF4, because you will certainly enjoy BF3 in the two months before the 4th comes out, and if you play it a lot you can even get COL in that time. It's good to learn the game especially if you have some money free - I play about 2 hours a day, maybe more if I'm on a really great team. Also, if you pre-order BF4, you get a head start on your unlocks because they will transfer over (as DICE has been advertising for some time now), so that will help. But personally, I like having goals, so getting this "head start" kind of is a ":blushing:" for me because I like that I have to spend less time unlocking, but also I want to have goals because it makes the experience more fun.

I hope whatever decision you choose is the best, but I hope to see you on the battlefield!
