In the net graph you have cl_updaterate and cl_cmdrate set to 20

wow thats a very professional question! I actually remain them on default value which is rate=30000(its the maximum numb for source engine I remember), cl_cmdrate "30",cl_updaterate "20". I know thats very low and I use to change them, especially in CS age. However since for most DODS servers, I get a nice ping and usually dont get any loss and choke so I stop changing them for days......the magic number is 101 ha?

@Eddy whats a good size for a mousepad?

I m now using a SteelSeries QcK mouse pad which is about 13in x 12in.

It really depend on what DPI (sensitivity) r u using and for FPS games u may need a bigger pad but for RTS games you dont.

About the mouse. When I got my Razer Abyssus I hated it. Because I like to pick up my mouse and reposition it. So when I have to do a quick turn it involves me lifting my mouse of my pad and putting it back down. The problem with the Razer was that it was sensitive that when I lifted it up it would move when the mouse was still in the air. This made the mouse almost unusable for me. Until I found out a tip for the "lifters-players" that said to put tape on the sensor. When I did that it solved the liftoff problem.

You can adjust the liftoff range with Razer mice now using their software.

@Eddie, I see what you mean but I don't think increasing your tic rate would cause a drastic impact on your ping. I guess you have to decide which is more important: the amount of time it takes information to reach your computer from the server, or the amount of information you receive from the server in a given amount of time. Seems you've figured out a nice balance given your distance from the server.

I run around 1500 dpi in dods on a RAT7 mouse with max weight on... and I picked up a widescreen mousepad a few months back, its 80% larger then a standard mousepad so I don't have to lift my hand to reposition so much.

I agree with Eddy, once you get used to a certain mouse, always stick with that brand and style.
