EdgeGamers Podcast!

New episode of the podcast is out!

The big news out of Blizzcon is Overwatch. How did it rate with Caelestis and Insomnia Princess this week? Both of these TF2 players draw obvious parallels, but are those fair comparisons? The two discuss whether Overwatch is Team Fortress 2 in a World of Warcraft disguise or if there is something more to be said for Blizzard?s newest project. Caelestis also takes exception to games that are shipped when incomplete while IP talks about the brilliance of Blizzard?s marketing department.

After that, the two hosts crack down on swatting. The growing problem of falsifying emergencies to the authorities stands to undermine video gaming as we know it. IP is the judge, Cael is the prosecutor, and swatters are on trial for being the dangerous face of video gamers everywhere. Caelestis also provides a legal analysis of how flimsy the legal ramifications are for swatting and pleads for legislative change. The hosts then wrap up with a hopeful message based on a hidden little gem of a video game all about pursuing your dreams?

Next week, get set for the reunion tour of Blackstreet!

Also, check out the latest blog post by Caelestis on five of his anime recommendations. Thanks for listening and reading!

Fresh new podcast, coming at you!

So, what up, nerds? Cael and IP here, talking about what?s good in the world of geekiness again. We start off tackling the heavy issue of a study done by Ohio State University regarding the way violent video games psychologically affect us. We have some opinions on the nature of the study and what we can conclude about us, as a gaming culture, from that study?s conclusions. After that, we jump into looking at how the Federal Trade Commission pounced on Sony for misleading consumers with advertisements about the PS3 and the Vita. Is it all part of North Korea?s conspiracy? The only way you?ll know is if you listen to find out!

Next week, Savage Garden is starting its reunion tour. Don?t miss it. It?ll be way better than listening to Christmas music.

Another awesome episode of RNG coming at you!

Here at Random, Nerdy, and Geeky, we do not talk exclusively about games and tech. What could be more randomly nerdy and geeky than history class? Nothing, of course! Mr_Nicoll from the Day of Defeat: Source Division talks to us about his outstanding knowledge of the World Wars in time for the centennial of the outbreak of WWI and how he got involved in studying the history of that time period. He also talks to us about his role in the recent film Fury starring Brad Pitt and Shia LaBeouf.

Don’t mess with Caelestis when it comes to historical dates. Look up Mr_Nicoll on his YouTube channel here!

Next week, Usher will be joining us. He’s going to sing about how, girl, you make me wanna build a snowman. ;)

We start off with some heavy talk this episode about the passing of the father of video games and it only goes downhill from there. Caelestis, Insomnia Princess, and Mister36 discuss the weighty subject of how to protect oneself in this digital age. The three hosts comb over tips and stories related to their online experiences and being sized up by strangers with less than the best of intentions. Then, Caelestis gets angry at the forthcoming Angry Birds film and the idea of bird romance. Seriously, bird romance. Have you heard of anything stupider than that?

Next week, we?re having Bon Jovi over. We?ll be rockin? into the new year! Also, check out our blog for seasonal messages from Caelestis and Insomnia Princess, as well as a recommendation from Caelestis on one of his favorite games of all time, now half off on Steam!

What a better way to wrap up the December of Day of Defeat than with DoD:S Community Manager Meg?s A Tagger? Because it is December, we have a cold opening but things get heated right away when we talk about anything and everything. Caelestis and Insomnia Princess go outside to settle their differences with fisticuffs and AngelsKing enlightens us about suspicious tagging activities. Meanwhile, Meg swears she remembers everything from last night and teaches everyone how to hug people and be mean about it.

IP briefly disconnected during this episode, which is why Meg screams, ?Oh no!? seemingly at random. Blame Kamchatka.

See you next year with Disclosure to ring in the new year!
