Been playing dod dods for 13 years , every day. That's what I think of it.

it's a fun game, however, it is the people that make it a blast to play.... best division in EdgeGamers hands down.

It's all about reaction, movement, and skill with pinpointing the mouse. You'll die a LOT initially, but it pays off... I've been playing DoD and now DoD:S for as long as I can remember computer games.

Negative: Graphics still shotty, But for those of us who played the first DoD, it's still an improvement.

Positive: Friends, you play so long and get to know so many people it's more of a social interaction then a game at times.

DOD is without the doubt the single most awful game I have ever played in my entire life. None of your shots reg, you die by random nades out of nowhere by people who cannot aim, people killing you without even aiming at you, teammates block your view and draw gunfire at you, people hide in random corners for 10 minutes waiting to get just one kill, then you have moron teammates who throw nades at you either killing or shell-shocking you to prevent any attempt you had to push up. This game is not good for your health and it does lower your average life expectancy. Why I play this game is beyond me, I must like to torture myself. But the community is great.

Day of Defeat is one those games that is easy to pick up and difficult to master.

Its a great game you can jump in if you only have an hour.

I suggest you always play random sides and random weapons. you'll find one class you love that you would never have tried.

As Cubey stated there are definite issues but what game is perfect?

"thinking" about buying DoD:S, you mean just biding your time until you actually get the game
DoD:S was my first steam game ever and I've loved it for almost 5 years and I hope I don't ever grow tired of the game. I won't lie it's not an easy game to learn as a beginner, but the people, events, and gameplay are all fun as hell.

but seriously, you will enjoy it.

the negative is that you can not just point and click, you have to really pay attention to recoil, as it is hard to adjust to. Also, you may have heard that some peoples shots dont register. That is valid. Nothing like having your crosshair on someone, shoot, see blood, but no damage. That can be frustrating... BUT...

When you start to get better, its very addictive. Once you start to get some streaks going, or taking down 7 or 8 people in one run it becomes necessary.
I have over 5,000 hours of DoD:S in about 3 years, and I still play a LOT every day.

Another positive is that we have 5 different servers, all running 24/7 maps. Find one that you like, find 3 that you like. Play, learn, enjoy.

The events are fun, realism is a blast, and the people are without a doubt the best part of the whole experience.

Oh yeah, and ask questions. Ask about tips of the game. Not a single one of us would leave you hanging. Except maybe hamham. He may shoot some negative sarcastic remark that will not help you, but hey, thats just how he shows affection. And find a group of us in ventrilo, that is a lot of fun too. Especially on fridays

Basically what he said. Of course we are going to want you to buy the game and try it out.

But on the real... you should get the game. The game has both negatives and positives that have already been stated. But I gotta say, the people in this division are really fun to hang around. When you do play, make sure you hop on vent. More than anything, you'll enjoy playing with the people in this division than playing the game itself.
