new CPU for BF4. Which should i choose?

Well i'm still undecided on my CPU upgrade.

I wont be using the GPU on the A8 though

I seriously cant decide. My budget for the CPU and mobo is $300 max. Very little wiggle room

can anyone please help me with this
 
The A8 is a bad choice. I'd go with the i5 10/10 times.

4430 hands down, if you're not overclocking you will get away with a H87 board with absolutely no problems. Good hunting.

The 4430 is on par with the older 2500k so it's a great deal if you're not planning on overclocking. However if you are overclocking I'd do some more research into the sandy bridge cpus. The manufacturing process on those cpus allow for great OCing.

i5 is worth picking up but if you can afford the i5 4670k I'll go with that, the intergrated HD graphics in the K variants is pretty handy not only that but it has better overclocking support as well.

I don't plan on overclocking it at all. The only thing i overclock was my GPU but overclocking and 2x screens don't really combine

I would have to agree to this combo. I have nothing against AMD. They have great CPUs. I have heard the new AMDs do have some issues not sure if those rumors are true or not. I myself have an I7 and I love it. I do some video editing / encoding so I sprung for the I7 but the I5 is ideal for a gaming rig.

Now as for the integrated HD graphics I'm not so sure about that. I don't use them personally. I have a dedicated graphics card. I have a 670GTX FTW 4gig memory edition for gaming and to help with encoding.

It's your choice and that's my recommendations, go for an i5 used to own one and was really happy with the results :)

go for that only 10$ more expensive, you save more and gain 0.2 ghz.
 
Just get the ol' i5 2500k instead and uberclock the beast to 5ghz+, they are so durable. It beats buyin a new mobo. Unless youve got the new socket already. (Not sure what u have now).

Does it anger you that he gave his opinion/offered his help? This is why these kind of threads need to be kept in the "Tech Help" part of the forums. Because yall opinions turn into facts to some people and then a "you dumb" "no, your dumb" battle begins...if uve got a question drop 'er in the tech help. Or even Google can figure it out than less time this has.

It doesn't anger me that he offered his help, but I think that the parts I suggested are statistically better. I just don't think he read the whole thread, judging by his message.

I like the i5-4670 more. But if you're an overclocker, nothing is going to overclock better than a Sandy Bridge part like the i5-2500k. This is a good idea if you're on LGA 1155.

I actually have a very similar build to yours, xNocturnal (i5-2500k with GTX 570). It still destroys most games after 2 years. :P
 
I would get a sandy bridge CPU as i already have the motherboard but mine is some cheap MSI one with a few of the SATA ports not working.. sooo why not jump two generations :P
