Okay, here we go. I just ordered a new PC here are the specs.

MB: MSI 890FXA-GD70
GPU: Crossfired 6870
CPU: AMD Phenom x6 OC @ 3.4ghz
PSU: 800w
RAM: 16GB of DDR 1600
HDD: 2TB WD
SSD: OCZ Technology - Vertex 4 128 GB 2.5" Internal Solid State Drive
DISPLAY: 3 24" Samsung LED monitors (eyefinity)

On Heaven Benchmark this PC scored a 1735

Can't Wait!

Nice, but it seems like all of these parts from almost 2 years ago... How did you find this parts list?
 
I just my dads friend (who is a PC builder/tech thingy) to build me one... For a price.
 
I could be wrong here but believe there is better parts out there now. Did you research online as well or just what the dads friend said? NOT saying its a bad setup but deff better out there or should I say more updated.
 
I know. I told him how much. He put it together and boom. I guess I trusted the wrong person? IDK. I'm still excited for it :D:D:D
 
Curious to ask what was the budget you gave him. I think he has a preference for AMD products...

Crossfiring 6870 is waste of money, even with 3 monitors. You want to go with the best single-GPU card you can buy, not 2 crossfired cards. Crossfiring is going to create a dip in performance (you aren't getting the power of two 6870s) and it isn't going to be as nice as a single-GPU. AMD's drivers when it comes to multi-GPU setups aren't as good as NVIDIA's, even though both companies make reputable graphics cards.

Straight up, for 2013 your build isn't good. It's actually pretty bad. It's really very bad. I would try to return the items and see if someone here can price a build for you. We have a lot of smart enthusiasts here who know their way around the components.

I don't think Samsung monitors are that great at all, especially in comparison to their TVs (which are good). I would look at Dell or Asus.

This is a situation where you should of posted on the forums here about your budget and we could have priced you the best system for the money. Unfortunately, you're stuck with the system your father's friend made for you. It's not horrible, but it definitely could have been much better.

Just going to say the first part I agree in spirit, but there are certain situations where a CF setup makes more sense, especially when you already own the card and you can get a second one for less than what you paid for.

Your second sentence is worded weird; I think you mean a CF setup doesn't equal the performance of a GPU times two (which no CrossFire or SLI combination ever does).

Back to the build; the absolute biggest issue with the build is trying to do an eyefinity setup on a budget of under $1000. And that's assuming you already have the monitors and they won't be included in the budget.

Yeah, that's exactly what I meant. Sorry about the poor wording.
 
Maybe it can be better. I know... But for what I payed I think it's great. Throw any game at it and its 60 FPS or better... Planetside 2 Ultra settings Render quality all the way up. 90FPS... BOPS2 MAX settings- 200 even constant... Run Heaven Benchmark on DirectX11, Ultra settings, AA - x4, fullscreen. Post your score.
