What version to get? Xbox or pc? I would definitely go for pc, except I have a real life friend who wants to play in person with me. Is it even multiplayer on Xbox or would we need another Xbox and two overpriced subscriptions?

I hesitate to get two copies on pc if he's only planning on playing with me, but I'd probably play online. Any thoughts?

I'd totally just play the first one with him but he's on a Mac. I didn't have any luck with borderlands on wine, and don't really want to suggest that he try wine because he's all "noooo I don't want non apple stuff on my computer and you'll break it waaah."

Also, how much better is it than the first borderlands? Just curious.

Well to me Boarderlands 1 and 2 are the same, except for fresh writing. Everything else is the same in graphics and gun play, but that's just my opinion.

Now looking at the critical stuff of PC vs Xbox.

Xbox - You will probably need gold membership if you don't LAN it. On top of that if you were to LAN it you would have to meet everyday at your or his house with 2 controllers, because im certain it has 2 player co-op, unless you can get 4 player co-op but split screen is kinda meh. You would also have to pay the over priced xbox game seeing as how xbox wants 30 bucks for left 4 dead 2. The first l4d i have seen up to 40 bucks.

PC - First off no subscription fee at all. Sure you have your internet bill, but im sure your use to paying that to where internet on the xbox is not free and an added charge. Sure you can LAN on a PC, plus no split screen! Borderlands goes on sale a lot more on PC then the xbox, so that is a win. Another is no controllers so your reaction time would be better.

It all comes down to preference. It also comes down to if both PC/Mac can run the game.

Yeah I have it only on the xbox and dutch summed it up well. If you do get it on the xbox try to get it on sale.

Ok, I wasn't sure if it had split screen or not for Xbox. I'll probably go with pc since I want to play it online. He'll probably have to get a gaming mouse :P

PC GAMING = Superior in every way haha
Xbox= Poor mans PC

You can see what one i like better lmao

Lawderlands 2 is Mac compatible. So just get two copies on Steam and have at it!

The only thing is that PC usually gets the newest updates first, so some content might not be available for Mac right away. If you're just starting it out with your buddy you shouldn't need to worry about that for a while.

Just use Steams new system of the Play thing where you can run games using controllers. You can multiplayer through that like you were on an Xbox just fine.

Borderlands 2 was awesome. I am unsure why people think the weapons were the same when I personally find them all quite different from the previous game. It still uses the same engine and the graphics are relatively the same but I love it still. I had tons of fun playing it. Plus on PC you can mod it much more then you could on an Xbox.

Use steams Big Play feature and hook up 2 wired Xbox 360 controllers. You will have no issues playing multiplayer with your friend.

EHRMAGHERD!!! I didn't know you could do that!!! You're my hero!

I played through the game on Ps3 and PC, both BL 1 and 2. I found PC to be far superior as long as your PC can run the game. No real reason unless there are a bunch of friends playing on a console. Multiplayer isn't nearly as important as a lot of people make it out to be.

As mentioned, if you want to use a controller, big picture mode to the rescue!

You're most welcome. Just use this every time you and your friends want to play a game. Any game that allows multiplayer like borderlands 2 should work just fine in big picture.
