Monitor screwing up.

So, i came to you my good technological fellows in a request for help as my goddamn old piece of crap monitor is messing with my feelings.

I got a AOC LM760s monitor and it has worked fine for years and yesterday too, the problem starts yesterday almost at night when it suddenly starts "controlling" itself and the monitor configuration menu appears, i click the button and it reapears, so i spam it, no results, i tried pulling the buttons, cleaning them and even disarming the damn thing (with no result because after the screws this crap is still holding together).

So, i ask any gentle soul with their huge a** knowledge to help this poor man.

I feel your pain Fermonx! I have the same problem. I have a BENQ gaming monitor and it was doing the exact same thing.

The menu configuration button seemed stuck because it's constantly going into the menu no matter what I was doing. I finally hit the button enough times that it just stays on constantly, but the menu does not appear anymore. I even tried to disable that particular button in the configuration with no results. The downside is that I have to press and hold the menu button, then push the power button to turn it off and on. It's not such a big deal for me I guess so I never sent it in as it may be more trouble then it's worth.

It sounds to me like you have kind of the same problem. There's probably a short in the circuit board for the button. I would recommend getting another monitor or bringing yours in to a computer repair shop to see how much it would cost to replace that part. Good luck!

Thanks for replying, i refuse to buy another monitor.. too expensive and i would just stick those buttons out and leave it that way, im going to ask my brother as he is capable (maybe) of solving this, thanks again

Update: So this is to someone who knows how to disarm my type of monitor or that can give more help, thanks.

that is at least a 7 yr old monitor which is probably reached close to its EOL (end of life). you might have no other choice but to get a new monitor. you can get good 20" widescreen monitors for about $90-$110 U.S. (unless you are not in the states) from newegg.

No states, europe, asia or africa, so, basically it is hell to get a cheap monitor here, besides, it works perfectly fine, i just don't have any idea of how to unstuck those freaking crap buttons.
