New graphics card

So, I'm thinking of getting a new video card, I have everything I need for BF4 but I'm getting sick of my current graphics card (a gtx550) and the problems it has with bad drivers from Nvidea. So I was think about a gtx 660 ti from new egg most likely, I'm trying to keep the price below $400 so, just wondering if anyone has any other suggestions.

for $400 i would get a GTX 770.

yeah you can get a 770 GTX for around $400 on newegg plus shipping of course. For a 2 gig card that should be good for a while.

Save some money, and roll with an AMD card.

Sure the 770 is a newer card, but the 770 is a GK104 card which isn't a new architecture. The 7970 is still a GREAT card and it's REALLY CHEAP.

The 7970 is a 3GB Vram card, it has about 500 more shader units, a higher memory bandwidth, and a wider memory bus.

Oh and 7970 comes with a Game bundle.

Do some research on which one to get, the 7970 IS THE CARD to get under 400$.

With $400 max I suggest Gtx 770 or AMD 7970 Ghz Edition, these two are near identical but bring great performance on the table more so than the 660 ti. I highly recommend 7970 for a cheaper price point with great performances and this card especially the Sapphire and Gigabyte cards have very good GPU cooling. Like CaptBattlefield said it does come with great games for free Triple A ones in fact.

I have a 660 ti and it works great. No issues with it at all and can run BF3 at max res/ultra just fine. I ran into a special and got 8Gb RAM free with it.

Rumor is that AMD will unveil their new 9000 series GPU in fall, don't know about Nvidia.

Baffield..your forgetting why Nvidia is more expensive. Its not the hardware that's superior, its the software. Personally, I would go with a 680 or 770 just because of amd's shotty software. Plus no PhysX and no Cuda support. But for you, if all you play is battlefield and all you ever will play is battlefield: You will get more Performance in bf4 from a 7970 with just a hair less qual(prob not noticeable). Amd-quantity of frames. Nvidia-quality of frames.

No I'm not forgetting sure Nvidia has lower latency cards and less dirty drivers but the price per dollar for the 7970vs770 is too much to ignore(Gaming wise.) And yes I do agree, but most people aren't going to take advantage of CUDA. I will always go Nvidia for my rendering/workstation PCs. I hardly ever side with AMD cards but for the 300-400$ price range you cannot ignore AMD.

Don't forget the Vsync specialties nvidia has aswell, and I guess OpenCL is supported just as much as Cuda now..so its really up to personal opinion. Snagging the 770 on sale would be nice but if money is all you worry about then stick with the amd.

I have a 670 GTX in my current gaming rig and probably wont change it until I build me a new system which is probably still a year or 2 away. I have been thinking of adding another 1 or 2 and doing SLI and going for a 3 monitor setup however. That would be totally awesome.
