Going to install new driver- need a little help here

Yes I'm going to install a new video driver and yes it is old. About 3-4 years old. I want to update it to the "latest" one there is on the NVIDIA list as I'm told. But at the first time when I reinstalled my current driver I had to deal with this:

-Restarting the computer and when restarting finding everything on the screen zoomed in.

-Finding the control panel area for drivers in a mass of pixelated icons.

Is there a way to avoid all those 2 problems? Any advice? Any lil' tips? Please share them with a beginner like me please!

What do you mean by screen is all zoomed in? Do you mean that the resolution changed?

If so right click on your desktop
click on properties
click on the settings tab
and set the resolution until you have the one you had before.

The resolution only goes crazy when the driver is uninstalled. Installing a new one or reinstalling returns it back to normal.

not always, a lot of the time you will have to reset your resolution after you install new drivers. this is probably what your problem is, just like was said before me, just change the resolution and you should be good to go...

oh, and dont forget to uninstall the old drivers before you install the new ones
