So I'm an admin on another forum, typically looking at the new users as I see them pop in to ferret out any advertising bots and the like (we used to be a much bigger forum, but after a downtime due to hardware failure and a slight problem with traffic not being redirected to the new server we've dwindled heavily).
Last week I noticed a really disturbing new user with the name of "Th3H4ck", an obviously false email address they registered from, no registration IP address, and somehow got themselves into the administrator's permissions. Banned them, along with two others that came along shortly after.
Cue Monday evening, where prior to going to bed I discover our forum was hacked to a splash page with horrible music. I notify the higher ups so they can hopefully fix it, and today it seems they did. Maybe. What greeted me this morning was a freaking second hacked splash page on the forum, different group and page completely. :facewall:
You ever get one of those feelings that the world seems to hate you some days?
