My New Rig, What Next?

Helloooo!

I just built a new gaming Rig, and I'm open to suggestions on new things to add to it! Here are my current specs:

Motherboard: ASRock Fatal1ty H87 Motherboard
Processor: Intel i7-4770k @ 3.5 GHz
Graphics: Sapphire Radeon HD 7870 GHz OC Edition 2GB
Memory: 8GB G-Skill RipJaws DDR3 1600 RAM
HDD: Maxtor PM 320GB 6400 RPM hard drive (may need a new one. This one is slow)
Case: Rosewill Challenger Gaming Tower
Monitor: ASUS VN247 24" HD LED Display

750 Watt Power Supply

I'm open to suggestions to upgrade the system. I am going to get a new hard drive, a new CD Rom, and maybe upgrade my memory to 16GB or 24GB. I did have a question though; I can run all my games (battlefield 3, crysis 2, etc) on Ultra settings very smoothly. Would crossfiring my setup make any difference?

I would drop the i7 and get the i5 4670k, put the remaining money towards a better GPU. A 7870 can max out BF3, but it would not be smooth.

Depending on where you live, you may want to check out Newegg.com on their storage. They're having a sale right now on different size hard drive & SSD's. I would highly suggest that you upgrade your hard drive since its 320gb (not to mention that the rpm needs to be up to 7200). I also agree that you should downgrade to the i5 so that you can save yourself some $$ towards upgrading other items. I cant say anything about doing crossfire since ive never done more than 1 card, so I wont give feedback on that.

Yeah, i5-4670k gaming performance is going to be a 1-3 frames difference from i7-4770k gaming performance. You should have went for a better GPU or even just saving $100.

He said current specs, no need to downgrade if you already have the 4770k. However as others have suggested, get a better video card, especially if you want to max out BF4. With AMD launching new cards in October, prices on current cards are sure to drop, hopefully in a big way. I'd hold out to see where prices are after the launch, might be able to pick up a way better card at a great price. Or even a crossfire or SLI setup at a great price.

Think of this, You have a generator powering your household lights and other appliances.

Dont crossfire, AMD crosffire isnt the best....if you want 2 GPU go nvidia sli or just stick to one good amd card.

The kinks have been worked out of crossfire setups. Those who think otherwise need to stop reading negative comments and passing it on or need to try a crossfire setup themselves. I've crossfired 5770s, 6950s, 6970s, 7770s and have had no issues what so ever. I've also had many SLI rigs (560Tis, 660Tis and 580s) and they work just fine. We've come a long way from the early stages and those problems have been solved and fixed.
