  • What do the RH's do?
  • Who are the RH's?
  • Can I become an RH?

The RH's goals are very simple; to help you reach yours. As an RH, our primary job is to encourage recruiting and provide tactics and confidence to new recruiters and recruiting veterans alike. Besides that, Recruitment Classes are events the RH's host, along with contest's.

Not only are TF2 items prizes at these events, but frequent attendance and participation to these can earn some awesome eGO awards like the

and the
Recruiter award!

Team fortress 2 division
Recruiters

We now have an official steam group for all of the team fortress 2 division recruiters out there! In this group, we will have events like mini-recruiting drives, announcements on servers that need to be recruited on and updates on where we stand in recruiting for this month, discussions on recruiting, and much more. I wanted to make place where recruiting veterans and newer recruiters alike can hang out and work together.

This group is invite only. But, ANYONE is allowed to join this group. Even if you have not recruited a single person ever, you can still be apart of the group by asking anyone of the RH's. This includes e's, eG's, eGO's, and even leadership. You are all encouraged to be apart of the group.

Other information
Promotions are possible. Be a good team player and recruit and help others and you get admin powers within the group.

Recruiters from other divisions may be welcome, albeit rare.

The Recruitment Guide.

Finding a Recruit
This can be the hardest part of recruiting. Not everyone that plays on our eGO servers want to join eGO, they just want to play and have a good time. The important part is understanding that that is perfectly acceptable; don't get frustrated if you can't find someone that wants to join, just try again in another hour or so.

Talk to your team over the mic. Try and get the fun going and get them to like you. Once you are on good standing with the server, go in for the kill. Talk about eGO and ask if anyone is interested. Make sure you mention the events, forums, Team Speak, and our other servers. If you are on the server and see a pub that seems like he is having a good time, talk to him over the game chat or friend him on steam and let him know about eGO.

Instruction

Registration, verification, application

Tell your recruit to go to the eGO main website (www.edge-gamers.com). Give them the link then tell them to click the green "register now" button at the top, then fill out the criteria. As they are doing this, don't be afraid to talk about somethings the eGO TF2 division has to offer.

Once they are done, give them the link to the my game ID's page at the maul home page (http://www.edge-gamers.com/forums/maul.php?p=mygameids). Once you give them the link, get there steam ID. On steam, find their profile from your friends list, then copy the URL of their profile. Then, go the the Steam ID finder and find the ID with the URL you got. Give the ID to them, and once they submit, there forum profile should say "unverified"

After you find the ID, tell them to connect to an eGO server on TF2. Make sure you tell them that if they are already in an eGO server, Disconnect and reconnect to said server. Once connected, their profile should say "verified"

Now for the final step; the application. Give them this link: http://www.edge-gamers.com/forums/cmps_index.php?pageid=application and tell them to read what it says, click continue, click the "source" box, then answer the questions. Make sure you tell them to put your name in the "recommended by" field of the app, or else you will not get credit!

Troubleshooting
  • If your recruit does not recieve the email, tell them to
    • Check their spambox
    • Refresh in two minuets
    • Make sure that they are on the same email account that they registered with
  • If you recruit is having trouble with the steam ID
    • Tell them to not copy and paste, instead enter it in by hand
    • Include the entire STEAM_0:0:1234567, not just the number
    • Make sure there is no space before the ID itself
  • If your recruit has invalid or bad information on their application
    • Let the PSC Members handle the problem
      • If you are a PSC member yourself, handle it how you would any other incoming members application
Any additional issues can be resolved by talking to a leadership member or Recruitment Host.

Retention

There is no point to recruiting if you do not perform this step correctly. Please take the time to review how to properly retain a member and get them to stay in eGO and, more importantly, have fun with the clan.

Introduce your new recruit into:

The forums
Have them read over the stickies in your divisional forums, and if they are up for it, create a thread introducing themselves.
The following threads should always be linked to your recruit:

Team Fortress 2- F.A.Q
Proper Forum Etiquette
TF2 Division Event info and Upcoming Events

Event's
Let your recruit know about the nightly events and make sure to invite your recruit to the next one. Events are where people meet each other and have fun together, so it is important new e's are attending.

Team Speak
Link your recruit this. Explain what Team Speak is and, if he is willing and you are on Team Speak, invite your recruit to your Team Speakroom.

Servers and the FFTF
Send your recruit this page, and explain that it is a good idea to add every server eGO owns for TF2 onto your favorite's list. Also, invite your recruit to the Fast Fill Task Force by sending them this thread. Encourage him/her to help fill the servers to keep up in the ranks.

Dropbox
Always link any recruit the dropbox, which can be found here. Explain that it is a system that allows members to talk directly to leadership. Make sure you also let them know to read the stickies in the dropbox forum before making any suggestions. Additionally, keep an eye on your recruit and make sure he/she is having a good time with eGO. Ask leadership if they have plans to promote or award your recruit. Also make sure you are filling out Dropbox posts if you think your recruit is in need of an award or promotion.

Ban request's
Finally, link your recruit the banning section of the forums here, as he or she will start as an =(e)=, the ban request's are a very important and helpful tool.
