Hey guys!
Hope everyone is doing well, I've got to play tonight with few familiar faces (Immortal and hardwarebeer it was fun), and remember why I was so addicted to DODS.

Speaking of which, I wanted to say hello again and explain to a handful of my friends why I haven't been on for a while. Haven't seen them on tonight so I thought it would be nice to write at the forums for this and few other reasons.

I've gotten into serious gaming around last year (summer time) after having dropped out of college because of too much stress and also problems at home. It was a very tough tough time for me, since I was doing so well in college (3.7 gpa 5 classes with 3 volunteer work including an intern). Hell I was studying what I loved.

I wanted to try playing games again, so I payed 5 bucks for dods 1.3 cuz I remember loving that so much in high school. THen I ran into zombie panic source and ran into my first gaming clan. I ended up founding a clan with a server owner actually, and began to experience how fun it was playing games with a dedicated group of friends. Eventually majority of the group decided to stop playing videogames to enjoy the lives outside of video games.

Before leaving myself, I said I'll play day of defeat source once again, since I enjoyed the game so much in high school. Little did I know there was a non-cussing server in dods called eGO. I loved how the pubs and members that played were mature (which was extremely rare in zps). I wasn't too sure what to expect of eGO though, but after seeing how london blitz was like I decided to join eGO. It was kind of uncomfortable for me at first since I would open up to some eGO members and I really didn't get much of a reply back, but eventually after attending events I ran into people like iamwute (CONGRATS ON BEING A DAD) and of course bruce lee who were such fun characters on ventrillo. Of course soon after, I got to know others better.

I enjoyed most of my time with video games since, even though it was not perfect (as in I felt lonely many times still), it was still a great place for me to escape from real life. However it has taken over my life so much I could not have self control and carry out my responsibilities in real life.

I remember running into very few posts in the forums for those who struggle with my same problems (they were motivational for me). For those who can't just play games for a few hours a day or such, I encourage you to volunteer outside or just open yourself to others and make friends to hang out with. One of my main struggles was to do things outside of video games and open myself to other people. Of course there are lots of a-holes out there but move on and you might run into someone really friendly.

I'm proud to say I stopped my video game addiction, and play very rarely if ever (not there is something wrong playing regularly, but I lost interest in it for now). I spend time volunteering (tutoring) and even spend more time with family or spend time remodeling my 1 bedroom apartment.

Before I sign off, I wanted to thank those who were good to me in eGO and took the time to invite me to things and actually hang out other than eGO events and such.

And Meg I never got the chance to congratulate you on getting DL, you are one of the sweet people here who takes the time to recognize others by giving awards or those awesome animated gifs.

To my friends I'll be on ventrillo on holidays if I don't have plans. Hope to see yall again one day.

All the best,
CushyCush aka CushionyCushion :)

Oh btw I'm turning 22 today! Can you believe it, still haven't drank a single cup of beer yet though ahha

Congrats on overcoming your struggles and I'm glad you stopped by the forums. Also, Thank You for your volunteer work. And HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Happy Birthday Cushy!!

Hope everything works out for you! You are an awesome guy, and we all appreciate everything you did for the division and the time you gave to eGO.

Happy birthday cushy and thanks for all the help you gave me and eGO. Have a good life mate. :)

Man Cushycush, what you have written really hits close to home. Too close. Good on you for volunteering your time to help others. While it might seem strange, giving my time and energy to others when I am sad or lonely has got me through some pretty dark days.

Thanks for opening up, it was really inspirational to read.

Happy Birthday! Its been fun and I hope to see you around in the future. Make that first beer a good one!

Happy bday cushball and good to hear that you're doing well :)

Thank you. One of the issues i have with this is overthinking rather than just doing it which I end up depressing myself(if that's a word). For me it is still a struggle but i think i am getting by it. I hope.

Dude. Best of luck in your studies, internship, and outside life. I pray nothing but the best for you!

Thanks to all of ya for the kind, understanding words. I'll keep in touch.

Your welcome Shy, I agree with you, and sometimes you run into the best people when volunteering.

Somedude, tnx man. Usually it's just anxiety for me, but you just have to put a smile on and get out there. Try to volunteer in something that you love. I used to coach little league basketball in high school which I enjoyed a lot.
If you have friends to hang out with then that's even better.

I think they just made a mistake on my e, I left a message in dropbox asking to resign due to my inactivity and my life away from eGO for now.

Tnx again guys, I had lots of fun for my bday today, went to an all you can eat asian buffet (If you have one near you [went to one called vegas] you have to go, all you can eat sushi, bbq, crab legs, and other tasty Asian food like coconut shrimp (a better version of orange chicken) :w00t:.
Got a new pair of glasses, it's pricy (840 bucks) but I have insurance that covers a whole lot of it. Can't wait till they arrive.
I'll show you guys a heavily edited pic so I can stay anonymous (not a big fan of showing myself on the internet personally). It's a really nice pair I'm so happy :D

Btw have you guys seen bruce lee, dunkinthorough, nuckin, or the euro folks (prime zero, derve, teddy). Do they still play?:confused1:

To the men who drink,
hAF45ABE7

Thought this was hilarious haha.

Forgot about me already? :'(

I kid :P prime and teddy both left and haven't seen derve for a bit.

Happy Birthday by the way.

Well, if you must know, prime zero and teddy left eGO and created a break off clan. They took quite a few people from eGO, mostly being the euro folks you are talking about. You probably won't be seeing prime or teddy around in servers.

Nuckin is around here and there, not terribly often in DoD:S, and dunky is busy with IRL stuff. I think he comes on steam here and there though
