Why "Get a Mac" Commercials are funny.

I think it is because that Macs sell there PCs in a category with only a few options... like upgrade processor, ram, etc.
The diversity of their hardware is low therefore developing stable and comfortable drivers for Vista shouldn't be too hard because their rigs are already predesigned.
That is what I think atleast. But I've always been a fan of Macs *shrugs*

Btw... PC just stands for personal computer. Every computer in the world, whether it be Mac, Server, Windows Box... whatever.... Linux... is a PC.
PC was twisted to mean what we know today because Windows 3.1 computers were called Personal Computers while Macs had an entirely different name for it.

I actually loath those commercials- particularly the ones about viruses. Mostly because they prey on the ignorance of the uninformed by proposing that there are less Mac viruses because Mac is more secure, when really it's a matter of numbers. If I'm a super villain, I'm not going to bio-engineer a plague that only affects a small tribe of pygmies in a remote part of the amazon. Same goes for virus authors, why write viruses for an OS that has a minority market share?
Marketing schemes that exploit the ignorance of the consumer just piss me off.

Everyone needs to just shut up about it. Especially Apple.
Oh, I would be using Linux all the time except for games. I just like it better, and I've got mine all customized to my comfort. But I don't mind XP at all. Once MS fixed all the completely ridiculous holes in it, it turned out to be not so bad.
But I really hate the ego that having a mac gives so many people.

"Mine's custom built, doofus. Get off my lawn."

i am saying this as an impartial observer... If it is an apple product running a MAC OS then it is an apple mac, by the same virtue if it is an Apple Product running windows it is an apple PC. There are PC's that are running Mac OSX, and OSX.5 this does not make them an apple, but a PC MAC. Therefore the flaw lies with the nimrod that made the commercial that was comingling the apple brand with the mac "nickname"/apple product that ran mac os.
Generally it seems macs are better computers than PC. No blue screens, can emulate windows, less viruses also because people hate windows(not main reason less virus tho). I would like to see the different computers they ran vista on, i think its PC world who did the study.
But Bill Gates is just a great buisness man stealing ideas and such. He is the reason everyone uses windows, not because windows is better.
