Not computers or laptops but.. iPhone's iOS7

After it took me like 9 hours to download, I enjoy it. I think it is fun, looks great, runs smooth and is just different. It is a nice change. Of coarse it is going to take a while to get used to but I don't think there is that much of a difference as far as layout, just the look and feel of the phone. It offers some interesting features as well. The best thing about it and what I think apple learned from droid was the ease of access to the control panel. In the control panel which is accessed by swiping up from from the bottom of the screen you have airplane mode, wifi on/off, brightness, flashlight, calculator, camera and so forth. It is just better then having to go into settings and deal the menus or have more clutter on your home screens. The new filters for the camera are fun, nothing too crazy. However another great feature is Itunes radio which is basically like Pandora but I do not think it uses any data, plus it suggests great music which you can then buy straight off Itunes, but who does that anymore ;) I am big on music so this awesome for me for finding new stuff. You can also keep apps turned on for consistent refreshing IE your Facebook, twitter, and other apps for up to date info. I personally don't like it because it kills battery. Speaking of battery I have noticed a tad decrease in battery performance. I think as the bugs and what have you are worked out battery life will return to normal but it all depends on your usage of coarse. Ease of access between screens (double clicking home) is better and smoother I feel. You are given some new ringtones and alerts to fool around with, all of which are extremely horrible, nothing new from apple there. In all I think it is decent and it is just nice to have a change. To sum it up I will say, if I had to pay for this update I wouldn't but because it is free and it is different, why not? You aren't getting a new phone per-say but it does have that look and feel of a new phone. If and when you decided to get it, be sure to check your settings, especially your iMessage settings. For some reason, Apple decided to send your iMessages from your email account associated with your Apple ID instead of your phone number. It is just weird so I had to change it back to my phone. People were getting messages from me from my gmail account, odd apple....End of rant. I don't want to work so I wrote this instead haha.

Here are a few main points:

  • New colors
  • iTunes Radio support
  • New quick settings menu
  • A bunch of new animations

Many of the changes seem to be small or simply cosmetic on older devices.
On the iPhone 5s the main change is 64-bit iOS, and added support for finger id.

In my opinion, the previous look of iOS started to look out of date. iOS looked the same since 2007! It was time for an update and Apple just picked now to do it.
