I'm having an issue and I'm wondering if any of you might be able to help. When I first started playing Source, someone had given me the cl_interp and cl_interp_ratio commands to put in my "Launch Options" in DoD Source properties.

Something happened to them and now it is blank and I have to re-enter them every time I load DoD. Does anyone know how they go back in there? I've tried several combinations with no success. Thanks!

You could just add the commands to your autoexec.cfg which will do the same thing.

My immediate reply would be yes. I've been editing cfg files since 1.3. However, since its not working, its probably safe to say I may be making a mistake somewhere. Danged if I know where though. I follow the cfg format when I enter the command line. So idk, I just know when i added it to Launch Options when i first started playing, that worked.

Try creating an autoexec.cfg file with notepad or something and add the commands you want and put it in steam/steamapps/common/day of defeat source/dod/cfg

That'll execute any console commands you add on launch.

I already have an autoexec.cfg file and I've tried opening in notepad and Word to add the commands. For some reason it doesn't work.

I'd just make a new autoexec, making sure it's autoexec.cfg and not autoexec.cfg.txt and double check the directory is correct.

I'll try it again but I'm pretty sure everything is in order because every other change I've made works normally. I'd still like to know how to do it through the Launch Options though. Maybe there is a setting conflict somewhere. Thanks for the help.

I don't think you can set console commands in launch options, at least not anymore.

Those are done via autoexec.cfg

Config editing from 1.3+ has drastically changed. Your original thinking is correct Shifty, but as mentioned..you now have to run a file to run a file..

To run files.

Good luck with your config!

Wow, that file is empty. I thought I did something to mess it up because it did work when i first started playing. 3 cheers to awful Steam updates. Anyway....Thank you Veelo very much for your help. Sorry Sean, props have to go to Veelo, who spent the better part of the morning trying to pound this into my brain. :)
