New help with gaming headset.

Well here's a question that should've been asked before making suggestions: Does it matter whether it uses 3.5 mm jack or usb? Also you never specified whether its for pc or X360. I noticed that theres 1 for each system, so if you could so kind to update us with the latest info, we would appreciate it.

G930's are great so long as you dont have any other wireless devices around or any home appliances like microwaves...
Other wireless devices such as mice interfere with the signal in the G930's and it disconnects often when not plugged in. Same think with microwaves. The wave paths from the microwave travel farther and some leach through the doors of the microwave and cause you to drop signal and damage the USB hub for the headphones and damage the headphones all together.
I know all of this because its been happening to me. I am on my 3rd set because of this and I really have no other option. I cant move my stuff and I cant spend money on a new pair so I just get mine sent into logitech and they send me a new set. Their customer support is great and always send me a brand new, never opened package of G930's every time they are damaged. Its just an issue with these things that put a damper on the wireless capabilities of most devices.
All in all - If you dont mind doing these things (I have had the G930's for 3 years and have only needed to send a pair in once per year. They renew the warranty every time.) they can be worth the money. For 120$ you cant really go wrong. The mic quality aint the best but its still better then 75% of headphones out there.

If sound quality isn't super important to you, you can also still buy a headset since they err on the side of being gimmicky, yet substantially cheaper than what was listed in that Reddit post. It's a good post, but not everyone has over two hundred dollars to toss at a setup purely for quality of sound.
I'll be honest though, I have the G930 and it's kind of annoying to deal with since the sound will sometimes cut out due to radio/signal interference, at least for me. You can save some cash with the G35 -- which has good sound quality and great bass, but for a fair bit cheaper, and it's wired. It's not true surround sound (no headphones are); rather, these headsets attempt to imitate it, but having owned both headsets I'll say they still sound great if you're not a massive audiophile.

I personally like the siberia V2. So many cute colors. I have the pink and black ones. I've been through probably 20 or 30 headsets ( extreme I know), nothing passes the Vicki test usually. The only downside of these headphones is the cord often gets tangled on its own. A good thing about this headset is if your soundcard gives out or isn't working properly after awhile you can unplug it and still use the headset.
-The g930's I hated them, had two pairs of them and i'll never use them again. They wouldn't connect properly, also for a month or two before I brought them back half the time they'd give off this really highpitched noise then cut off. Happened with both headsets. I really wouldn't rec' them.
-all turtle beaches suck.
-Also, the sennheiser brand is a good one aswell, I know a guy who had a headset for yeeears by them and never had a hitch.

I have had the G930's for about 2 years now and I haven't needed to replace them once. I also have had no issues with other wireless devices ( mouse and printer both wireless). As far as microwaves I haven't noticed any disruptions when it is going on, but it could be because I'm on the second floor when it happens. The range on these are great as I have walked downstairs with them on still listening to music with no interruptions. The surround sound is amazing, you can definitely tell the difference when its on and voice is as well very clear.
I can vouch for Vicki when it comes to a headset tangling up on itself. I have the Plantronics Gamecon 777. Its been a great headset (not any of that fancy 5.1 surround sound stuff), but the mic part works great. Like the siberia v2, I havent had an issue except for above. I can also vouch for Sennheiser. They make awesome headphones (I have an HD 202 I think & have had it for years). Hopefully this will help guide you in the direction that you need to search in order to get a better headset.
