Battlefield 4 BF4 BETA AMD crashing - possible helpful steps

Update to latest beta drivers 13.10 as of 9/30/13
reset 3d settings to defaults
right-click desktop select catalyst control center

seems like having the driver override some of these values causes the game to crash intermittently
