Battlefield 4 Windows 8 VS Windows 7 Performance

yea yea yea...such a great idea to put it on windows 8. i think less than 5 percent of gamers use windows 8. Great logic dice :D

but this is as of now. will change as the release gets closer.

So irritating... Half of those graphs mean NOTHING because they have no axis labels. Also my new computer is going to have Windows 8 because that's what is ships with. I'm too lazy to install Windows 7.
 
Turning off ambient occlusion completely and switching from fullscreen to borderless gets rid of my irritating stutter(cpu no longer at 100%). Smooth bf4 is quite the experience. I strongly suggest trying some of these tricks out. I also have the beta drivers which may or may not work for some people.

I find this funny as I know that two of us had to dl the nvidia 331 beta driver to be able to play, the 320 driver only gave us a black screen
 
hmmm...lets see, Noone uses windows 8....and barely any sales compared to past windows....now what would pick-up those sales? Answer: no longer support windows 7 in the future software/game releases so that everyone HAS to pick up windows 8.....sad but true. Microsoft has the power to tell anyone what to do.

I play BF4 with win8. graphic setting on auto.

FPS around 60-80 when playing, around 110 on menu, after battle report and etc.

I hated metro on windows 8.1, but you can replace it so it looks and acts pretty much like windows 7, just faster. Completely fixed my bf4 performance.
 
I use Windows 8 and love it. I have a EVGA 670 GTX FTW 4 gig edition and used the 320.18 drivers and never had any problems playing the BF4 Beta. Sure it crashed every now and then. That's what betas do they crash and give errors. That's why they are betas to iron out bugs etc. I had the graphics on auto and it set it on ultra and high and I was getting 80 - 120 fps in game. The only lag I was getting had to do with server or connection lag. I don't think the network connection is optimized as good as it could be yet not sure. Altho my resolution is only 1680 x 1050 hehe. That's as high as my monitor will go.
 
Looks like I won't be needing Windows 8 since the latest patches to the BF4 beta fixed my stutters of my CPU and dips from my GPU now I run over 140FPS smoothly on my 2x 7990, not to mention the promising MANTLE API BF4 will utilize in December.
