The story begins when 30,000 Japanese gamers are trapped in the fantasy online game world Elder Tale. What was once a sword-and-sorcery world is now the real world. The main lead Shiroe attempts to survive with his old friend Naotsugu and the beautiful assassin Akatsuki.

I really like the MC in this show. How often is your MC, in this type of anime, more of a support-like character. Will be very interesting when they get into strategies and such.

P.S. Don't make this into a comparison/flame war between Log Horizon and SAO.

Well, no has responded to this, so I'm going to assume that Mega and I are the only ones watching this.

Regardless, more and more, I'm finding that this is the anime that I most look forward to every week. I actually like this one way more than I expected to, and like it even more than ones that I was looking forward to before the season like Kyoukai no Kanata. Can't really explain why, but I really like this one.

lol no, They don't die irl if they die in game, that's actually the main difference from sao and the characters talk about it in the 1st episode.

They intend to treat their world as a prison rather than a death trap. I'm liking the show very much with exception to those weird japanese over-the-head moments which i'm pretty sure are only funny in Japan, e.g.: one of the girls being obssessed with the ninja girl and dressing her up...weird.

I just wish they had better graphics, less caricatural, more like the top animes, and cut the weird moments, but overall i highly recommend this anime and i'm enjoying it a lot.
 
I started watching it last night due to the fact that I try not to watch anime as soon as they are released. It's actually better than I expected, I like the fact that the MC is a support character instead of a brute force melee type. I like playing support classes in mmorpg games so it's fun to watch in an anime adaptation.

They even said you don't die in the real world if you die in the game. The story, in my opinion, is more developed than SAO's. As shank mentioned, the fact that the MC is in more a support role is pretty unique. Usually, in this type of show, the MC is more of a dynamic type of role.

Going to call you out on the "graphics". Yes, graphics are not the best, but the art style of the anime itself is more simple and I think that having over the top graphics would take away from the actual art style.
 
I reallly love this show. I love the light novels more (Just as SAO). The story is amazing. It's a lot more like the .hackers series than SAO.
 
I love that the game itself is much more fleshed out than in SAO.

When he revealed to the counsel that he purchased the guild hall building zone I was like, HA!

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
 
Just got into this yesterday. Caught the first episode and thought it was quite interesting, yet when I watched the remaining aired episodes it easily rose to one of my favorite series. Personally I tend to find at least one character in a series that I dislike and that hasn't happened. Quite surprised.

Intrigued to see where it goes.
 
To think that this anime has an interesting plot that can keep me watching it. Good job.
