Hello. I'm going to be getting CoD: Ghosts (of course) and it says that the Processor requirement for it is a Intel Core 2 Duo E8200 2.66 GHZ or a AMD Phenom X3 8750 2.4 GHZ. Currency, I have a AMD Phenom II X2 521 processor and was wondering if I could even play ghosts with that one. I would go out and spent the money for a new one, but the problem is I recently just bought a new monitor, 2 new 4GB RAM cards (I have a total of 12 now) and a EVGA GeForce GTX 650 Ti graphics card. Any thoughts?

You're fine. It obviously wont be the best quality but it is better than nothing.

There are also minimum requirements and recommended. You should take a look at both if you plan to run the game smoothly.

Thx for the feedback, guys. And no, I really don't care if I can run the game at high graphics. Oh, and I forgot to mention that I run BF3 pretty good with this set up, too.

Just an FYI: just say you got 2x4GB of RAM or sticks; cards are for sound and graphics. ;)

Here's another question but it's about my video card. How come in DoD:s I am only getting an FPS of about 60-70 with my EVGA GeForce GTX 650 Ti? Shouldn't it be like 150+, at least?I had a driver update so I don't know what's wrong. Any suggestions?

1) You may have a max fps lock
2) DoD:S may be bound more to the CPU than GPU
3) Code optimization may favor AMD GPUs over nVidia
4) Size of the monitor can lower FPS (Much large monitors can lower FPS)

There's a number of different, possible explanations; even the RAM not being fully used for the game could be a possible reason.

1. How do i check that?
2. Can I change that at all?
3. Don't know what that means :P
4. I have a 21.5 in. (diagonal length) monitor

How could I use the RAM more in the game or set it to be used more? FYi, I have 12 GB of RAM

1) You should ask in the DoD:S division discussion; gotta use console to unlock the FPS if you do have one in place.
2) No; only way to deal with it is to get a new CPU.
3) Some games favor certain setups over others. For example, some games work better with AMD processors or video cards because their drivers work better in that case.
4) Shouldn't be the monitor then. I was thinking along the lines of a 27-32" LCD TV being used.

For the RAM, I don't know off the top of my head, but you should be able to google and find it. Pretty much you're allocating more RAM resources to the game than it would normally automatically be set for. The concept is the same as for Minecraft; it runs and looks better when you get more RAM to use.

Thanks for the suggestions! I lowered my resolution in-game from 1920X1080 to 1600x900. It looks a little crappy, but the FPS is way better. I do however have to deal with the black bars on the top and bottom of the screen.

One more question. In the settings, there's something called "Direct V9.0t" What is that for??

Its the version of DirectX that you are using.

Dod:s is CPU bound but you should have better fps than that at 1080p I got nearly 120fps with at core 2 duo and a 5850 back in the day at 1080p. There is a number of things that could cause this. Check the steam forums for DoD:S for some suggestions.

Seconded. IIRC I had better FPS than you while using a C2D and an 8800 GT.

Yes, he was playing DoD:S. Which started the question about improving his FPS in that game for like 5 posts...

Then the problem with that could be that there is a set cap on his FPS. I missed that post, my bad.

But he can always change the cap if he figures out how in console. I believe the command is something along the lines of "fps cap ect ect ect" I am unsure though.
