Which video card?

I am going to be buying one of these two video cards but can't decide which is the better choice. Both are priced the same. So any help would be appreciated.

EVGA, at least in my experience, provides a significantly more consistent product.

Especially at temperature management.
 
Evga is what i prefer because of past experience. Never had a problem with EVGA
 
I'm running the BFG now....

Got a way better deal with it at Best Buy, using the 12% off etc.....

I run 2 at SLI, runs great...
 
If neither is cheaper or has a deal, I'd go with EVGA they have a very nice 30 day upgrade program. You can read about it on their website.
 
Bah I've ordered the eVGA but it probably won't get here until 2 weeks. I'm stuck with my awesome integrated card till then :(
 
Eeh, the last two EVGA products I've bought died in under two years. It's usually problems with the stock fans, they die really quick and before the card can shut itself off it heats up and kills itself. Been running a BFG Tech card for over two years and it isn't even beginning to make noise. The EVGAs started that fan ticking and hissing after about 6 months of use.

BFG Tech also provides very long lifetime (of the product) warranties for their cards, which I like.

Good luck with the EVGA though, since you already ordered it and all, wish I'd seen this topic sooner. Check the reviews for the cards on Newegg, you find interesting things. Saw a review for an EVGA where the fan popped completely out and shot around inside the case.. that was a 7900 though, if I recall. =P

I might recommend upgrading the cooler on that 8800GT, IMO a single slot cooler isn't sufficient for a card that high performance. Look around at VGA cooler reviews, the Zalman VF-1000 looks like it'll be nice, I have a VF-900 on my X850XT now and it cools excellent. I'm waiting for my new video card to get to my house too, I'm very anxious =\ lol. Good luck and enjoy the card!
 
Yup the 8800 Gt NEEDS an upgraded cooling system.

From the first design, they have already upgraded it recently.

But it stilll needs some help.

Alright, cool then. Just be sure to keep all the warranty papers and original packaging (if specified as needed) on ya. :D
Which is a good practice with any computer part, really.
 
Yea, I hope the card doesn't burn out on me. And I'm definitely going to add an additional cooling system to keep the card temperature in check. And Hostile I can't wait to get mine either and enjoy your card as well!
