Alright, I'm looking into buying a new computer because I'm tired of the very long loading times and errors in TF2. Does anyone know where I can get a cheap computer ranging from $400 to $600? Thanks for all the help I get here.

I'm not exactly sure on how much I could get for my current computer...

OS: Windows XP Professional SP2
CPU: Intel Pentium 4 2.8GHz

Here's the problem...

Anything you get in that range will be built on increasingly obsolete tech (AGP, IDE, etc.) and while it will be up to spec for TF2, you will have severely limited options for upgrading when the next game that catches your fancy maxes out your machine. While I could probably cobble together parts for recommendation on building an up-to-spec machine on that budget, I would really recommend waiting while you save for a better build.

In the meantime... how old is your install of XP? You might benefit from a format and clean slate install of XP.

Laf is right just like I said the price range ..... you will get an outdated computer. Like 754 mb of ram.. and only 1 hard drive like 150 gb and about 2.4 gHz proccesor (at most).

They seem to have some pretty cheap computers, I don't know how good they are though.

Nah you can get a decent upgradable system for $600 bucks... heres like 5 mins of looking on NewEgg.com. You can tweak it to whatever you like... its just to show you its possible.

Items to make sure are SOLID....

Motherboard....look for one that accepts a few future sets of processors....I'm runing a Evga 680i...I can still do some of the quad core and newer 45nm processors yet to be relased...good for atleast a couple years.

Power Supply... Remember you might run SLI etc... Get atleast 650w~750.

If thoes items are solid, things like Video cards....and Processor, you can relax a bit for. Upgrade them to the latest ones when time/money comes.

Ram is obscenely cheap for 2gb. So you dont even have to worry.

You can probably salvage the CD-rom etc... from your current computer. Hell Even salvage the case if you can. Change out the PSU and that should free up some money for eveything else.
