Win 7 disc error

Change AHCI(UEFI) to IDE(Legacy) and it shouldn't need drivers.
 
I feel that I have hindered information and I would like to apologize. My moms new laptop doesnt come with a built in dvd drive (why I have no clue), but because of this Windows 7 is demanding a cd/dvd drive (for whatever reason).

Needless to say, im going to put Windows XP on my flash drive in hopes that it will override the need for any kind of optical drive.

@frank I have Legacy enabled so that Windows 7 can run, but its still asking me for the driver for the dvd drive.

Your drive doesn't have drivers on it, which is common,its the kind that relies on the OS to give it a generic driver. Put windows 7 on a flash drive instead. use imgburn to make it an ISO and then use Windows7 USB download tool to make a bootable flash drive.
 
Ya when it comes to the win 7 usb tool, it wont recognize my usb drive for whatever stupid reason. Do you know of another software that will convert win 7 to my usb drive?

**EDIT** Ok, so just found a software that does what Microsoft's tool does, but its called WinToFlash. I really dont mind the ads that it displays, but at least its doing the job so far. This is unfortunately my last ditch effort. I hope it doesnt demand for a dvd drive again.

Use ImgBurn to make it an ISO file and then you can use WinToBootic to make it bootable if the usb tool doesnt work.
 
Ok so heres an update: come to find out that the win 7 dvd that we received along with the product key was corrupt. Went online & downloaded an iso file, just to find out that it was also corrupt. Hit up a friend on Steam and worked thru it for around an hour. Finally found an iso thats legit & used a program to remove the ei.cfg so that I can use the win 7 ultimate w/ my win 7 hp product key. This should override the need for that stupid cd/dvd issue.
 
Heres another update: well even tho I have a legit version of win 7 on my usb drive, the laptop is still asking for a cd/dvd drive. Is it possible to wipe this interest from the command prompt by chance?
 
just in case anyone else needs it here are the direct microsoft downloads. I would not trust an image from another source. I hope it isn't necessary to say this, but you still need to purchase a key.

Can you not use the boot menu to boot off of the flash drive? what brand laptop is it?
 
First off, let me answer Insane Penquin. I worked w/ a friend of mine via Steam for about an hour & came to find out that the 64-bit version of win 7 hp is in fact corrupt because of the hash information on it.

@frank, I have the BIOS set to boot from the flash drive, but its still asking for a cd/dvd driver. Also this laptop is an HP Pavilion Sleekbook Model 15-b123nr.
 
So I have some great news. The issue has finally been resolved. Believe it or not, the whole issue was started (believe it or not) by the usb slot. HP decided to put 2 usb 3.0 slots on the right side (since us humans are mostly known for putting usb anything on the right side) & 1 usb 2.0 slot on the left side. My friend via Steam suggested that I put the flash drive on the left side & it worked. Im so thankful this whole issue is over with.

Thanks to frank for your time and patience working with me on this. Also to everyone else for your input (even if it didn't quite help out).
