For those who have bought the the game, what are your first impressions about it. Single player, Multiplayer, graphics, story, gameplay?

I haven't downloaded the Single player yet, but the graphics and multiplayer are pretty good! One thing I did not like however was the Extinction (aliens) game play. got real boring.

I felt some change in call of duty for once... but it just made it feel bad.. I felt all the higher levels have too much of an advantage over new players on games modes like cranked.

Havent played single player

IT KEEPS CRASHING MIDWAY THROUGH THE MATCH T_T. Loading time is pretty long for me as well :P. First impression - I hate this game. Impression now - I would love this game if it stopped crashing, but overall fun.

I enjoyed it, not as much as I would have liked, but I was also in a bad gaming situation (Bad area) but I thought MP was gonna have dedicated servers?

It does have dedicated servers... Just not rentable ones.

They do not have Dedicated servers yet, only matchmaking. They also said sometime in the future that they would come out with rent-able Dedicated servers.

And one problem that I have is on the menu screens (like finding a game or creating a class) the game constantly freezes up. not sure why

I'm DLing it as we speak, but I heard that the PC port sucks! GTA IV all over again :(

I'm sure there will be future patches and updates which will fix the problem!

At least I hope so :P

Another problem I get is when I'm in-game, I get a message from Ventrilo saying "Your sound input device has stopped sending data to the Ventrilo client." Until I exit the game, there is no way for me to talk into vent after this. This only happens with ghosts and no other game.

I get this error in other games; usually it's an issue with power through my USB port, from what I can tell. All I do is pull out the plug and reinsert it, and rebind the press to talk key. Usually fixes it. This has happened to me just watching youtube videos, hulu, playing Minecraft, WoW, Planetside, CoD, Terraria....

For me, it has ONLY happened since I started playing Ghosts.

Which I got in your prior post. Thanks.

So far, I'm playing just the campaign mode and my reaction is mixed. Graphics look pretty good to me, story is interesting without being boring, even though some of the "Ah-ha!" moments were lacking and predictable. However, I'm noticing some kind of glitch or skipping, especially in heavy graphic areas (multiple explosions, lots of enemies running around, lots of debris kicked up from gunfire). It doesn't feel smooth or polished like CoD4 was to me. I'll keep playing and report back anything else I may find.

I don't have anything to say besides I'm glad that I haven't given them a penny since mw2 lol

@mdgrim I saw that as well, but I'm not really concerned about it. The scene in Ghosts only lasts about 20 secs total, and its so early into the game, it really doesn't mean much. It just tells me you're being evac'ed.

Well it says a lot about the overall design philosophy of the game...rinse and repeat.

I bought this game for the single player as I have pretty much all the other CoDs.

I play them because I like the story, the action, and they always manage to have some super extreme action stuff that looks badass but is impossible in real life. Anyways, this time around the game felt so damn generic. From the start there's tons of destruction and explosions that either come right up to your tip-toes or make your screen flash red and get up really slow.

The scripted events are very predictable; "Hold on a second Logan" then either an explosion happens or you hide from a 12 man patrol. Add to that the same bad guy scenario as in the last 7 CoD games where the baddie is one step ahead of you the entire game and you play into his traps that usually end with the CoD-wobbly-gun-aimed-at-a-baddie's-face-but-when-you-shoot-and-it-goes-off-in-the-worst-possible-direction scenarios.

Ghosts is a game that is a fun play through but never really entices you to play again or even look forward to the sequel (it's CoD, there will be several).

I'm not sure if it's me finally realizing that all the CoD games are the same thing with new environments or if the game is a cut-and-paste job-- probably both. I might have been distracted and not noticed the lameness if there were more gadgets or guns I hadn't seen before but there weren't.

Here's what CoD Ghosts has to offer:

-A 6 or 7 hour campaign
-No new weapon sights
-The story kinda lets you know what's happening but you are never told the actual status of your country (you're a resistance fighter one minute and you're on an aircraft carrier the next).
-The main weapons in the story are space-based kinetic weapons (I'm guessing) but do as much damage are non-nuclear ICBMs or MOABs
-80% of the guns are the same 5 or 6 models
-The new guns are in the last 20% of the game
-A ship's sonar is apparently like a nuclear explosion under water
-You can tell the developers watched the scene of the Dark Knight Rises and Mission impossible a few dozen times and decided to make a level because of the high-rise scenes.
-You can shoot and kill some sharks (you read right) but not the ones you have to swim by.
-You fight in space (you also read this right) but the recoil has no effect on you.
-You use a remote controlled dog (yes, I know)
-Plenty more

The one thing they got right in this game (and it's the first I've seen or remember) is that when you wear enemy uniforms to blend in the baddies assume you're not an enemy until you shoot them in the face. Kudos.

So far I haven't really heard anything amazing about this game. I was thinking it would be good competition for BF4... Guess I was wrong..
