I'm looking to build my GF Lupus620 a new comp, and I am not up on all the latest & next to the latest gaming gear.
Can you guys/gals give meh a hand in building her killer gaming rig, I want to try and build her something with a 6 core possessor, 16 + - GB's of fast gaming ram, 2GB vid card or 2 800 watt + - power supply, and I DON'T want any re-manufactured parts!
Any and all help welcomed, thank you very much!
And I hope she doesn't look in here in the tech section and see this, as I want to surprise her with it!

Why are you asking for a 6 core processor? Amount of cores does not dictate performance.

For gaming, you don't need 16 GB of RAM. (I know you said more or less, I'm just saying)

Why do you need 2 800W power supplies OR a gaming card? You need both. Also, you don't need 800W for 1 graphics card.

What is your budget? Do you plan on overclocking? Do you want an optical drive? Do you have any preferences for the design of the case? Do you need an OS?

Not a really good setup to be perfectly honest... You didnt really give much information on what any of these things cost or are.

What CPU is called 4570? Are you referring to the i5-4570? I only found that out because you're recommending an asus LGA 1150 socket mobo.

The SSD is way overkill. Waste of money.

You didnt include an HDD either...

He didn't discuss budget so I didn't discuss cost.

4570 is perfect for gaming, you get the Intel speed without needing to pay for hyper-threading. He did state "killer" rig, not a budget rig.

SSD is not overkill. a 250GB Evo is $180 on Newegg which is nice for your two to four games. I didn't recommend a HDD only because I'm pretty sure he knows what to look for since he HAS built a previous machine.
 
@Cloaked You gotta brush up on your hardware knowledge. The Intel i5-4570 is around the sweet spot for a new gaming build price/performance-wise. So yes, he's obviously referring to that CPU.

@frank The SSD Is overkill. For the price of what it'll cost. I would honestly recommend a 120GB SSD + 1TB HDD combination; run the OS on the SSD, use the larger drive for storage.

And fixitquick has it right; we need a price point. Otherwise the builds can be anywhere between $1200-$5000.

I'm saying what other CPU is labeled the 4570 beyond the 4570K? Illustrating how popular the CPU is was to drive home the question what other 4570 would he have meant.
 
Sushi I meant to put a , in after the vid card or 2, 800 watt + - power supply.
|will get more into price in the next day or 2, but trying to build it in under $1500.00.

That would be a nice build but the CPU and mobo will not work together since they have different socket sizes.

You could switch out the z77 for the z87 and it will work or you can use a i5 3570k with the mobo you listed and it will save a little money.

Thanks a3yko, and everyone else.
What I'm doing for now is just replacing the MB, processor, and ram with a couple new HD's.
a 32 GB SSD for the new windows 7 pro, with a 2 TB HDD SATA drive for the games and such.

What size SSD should I get for the main HD, 32 BG or 64 GB or a 120 BG?
I already have a 2 TB WD SATA HDD here that just came in, and I will put it in the old machine using XP media center edition until I get the rest of the funds gathered to replace the MB, ram, & processor.

I recommend a 120GB. You won't believe how fast 32 and 64GBs can get filled up.
