$1000 laptop

Nope, two, decided to buy the OS separately because all the shops offered the laptop with either no OS or OS in Polish. Personally I prefer to have an English version of Windows.

And no, just one piece, the OS was in that envelope under it. :P

So this baby arrived in the morning today, and I've been sitting almost whole day installing windows, drivers, some games and whatnot. Everything is running very smoothly and it's quite a big move from my PC.

Thanks everyone for suggestions, especially wizekraker and Snipeye. :)

No worries, glad to help. Good thing you have a wireless mouse. The on board touch pad can be buggy at times...

So far I didn't have any problems with the touchpad, but I did use it only during installation of OS and drivers. The mouse came with the laptop for "free" which was nice of them. It's one of those cheap $5 wireless mouses but it works for what I need it. :)

yeah I was going to get the Y510p but instead i got the G510, its half the price (saved $500) but Intel HD 4600 which is good enough for majority of the games out there, i5, 8gb ram, 15" screen 1tb memory, basically almost everything the Y510p has except the nvidia and i7. I can play battlefield 4 in low in 30fps.

Almost the same specs as me then

CPU Intel i5-4200M @ 2.5 GHz
GeForce GT 755M 2GB
RAM 8GB
HDD 1TB with 8GB cache

I was hoping I could use the UltraBay at some point, maybe get another gfx card, but so far I haven't seen the caddy anywhere. Not that it matters really, right now I'm more than satisfied. Launched WoT, pretty much almost everything maxed out and was getting a stable 45 FPS.

I'm really wishing that I broke down and bought one for myself. But the cost... better off saving/investing it at the moment. *sigh* Looks like a great laptop man. Happy you're happy with it.
