So.. I have like... a bunch of multiplayer Steam and Origin games, but I'm kinda in the mood for a good singleplayer game with a great storyline and good gameplay. My PC is able to handle anything, so I don't care about graphics. Price doesn't matter either.

I'm more into racing, shooters/actions, and RPG games.

Any recommendations out there? I could use a good story-mode game!

Got some RPG recommendations. Try Two Worlds, Two worlds 2 after, Gothic 3, and arcania. ( I know 2 of these are a bit old, but seriously Two worlds 1, and Gothic 3 really did get me into RPG's, just because of how good their story lines were.)

For action games, I really enjoyed the newest Tomb Raider. I also thought BioShock Infinite was worth checking out. I'm not into racing games, and I haven't played a good RPG in years. All the new ones just seem so watered down to me. I'm definitely going to look into T--Bone's suggestions though as I haven't played those.

Bioshock Infinite has a new DLC called Burial At Sea which brings you back to Rapture. Looks fun.

I played Tomb Raider; was able to beat it in 16 hours but I didn't find or get every achievement. That is definitely a very fun and enjoyable game, something I haven't experienced in some time. I HIGHLY recommend it if you haven't played it yet.

I haven't beaten Witcher 2, so I'm about to go back and play it again. I remember enjoying it and the storyline was awesome.

I got X3: Terran Conflict, Albion Prelude, and Reunion; these are space-sim games with a high-degree of difficulty when first starting out (namely learning the controls). But once you do, I've heard that it's a very addictive space sim game; think Eve Online, single player.

Don't Starve is a fun single-player game where you're fighting against the game to not die. FTL: Faster than Light is a similar, fun indie game where you're commanding a space shuttle to go from one side of the galaxy to another to deliver important info for the Rebels. Gameplay is pretty simple, but the amount of strategy that exist is great.

Obviously Skyrim is an excellent RPG to play. I'd also say Dragon Age may be something you'd like to consider.

Dead Island is a great action RPG, which becomes more fun with a friend or three. Believe it or not, I actually used this game in a thesis for one of my MBA classes (got an A+). It may seem droll at first, but when you progress the story line, there's a lot more interesting things and dynamic scenes that will occur to keep you glued to the game. Took me 38 hours co-op with a friend and solo combined to beat. Could have beaten it sooner but we were trying to get all the missions done.

Witcher 2 was above average. I just couldn't get comfortable with the combat system. Between the traps, spells and swords there was just too much to keep track of in my opinion. I thought that that could have been simplified. Other than that, pretty good game.

Splinter cell blacklist. Great single player missions. There were a ton of them to do. Roughly 5-8 missions per person and there was a good 3-4 people.

Action with RPG elements: Mass Effect (1,2 & 3) , Deus Ex human Revolution , Skyrim , Fallout 3/new Vegas, Metro 2033/last Light.

Straight Action: Batman Arkam Asylum/City , Crysis 1/2 , L.A Noire

Racing games: Grid 1 and 2 , Dirt 2 or 3.

All pretty good games with decent story/action.
Special recommendation would be Mass effect/Batman/Metro.

have fun ;)

If you want a fun racing game, give Trackmania Nations a try. Its free & plenty of downloadable custom maps created by users from all over the world. The great thing is that the maps are really small (like between 50-100kb if that).

DmC-Devil May Cry. I enjoyed it. The story was pretty good and there is DLC

Mentioned above, BioShock Infinite, Tomb Raider(new one), LA Noire, the Batman games, and Sleeping Dogs are also strongly recommended. (I've yet to finish)

Its a bit old now, but Project: Snowblind is a good bargain shooter with a nice plot and good maps. Multiplayer is there...but no longer supported.
