The rookie bustled in, the bulging crime file in his arms spilling haphazard shreds of evidence. The chief put down his silver flask and fixed the younger man with a stare that could curdle milk. "Make it good, Maserati. You interrupted my 11:00 am scotch break."
"Sorry sir, just figured you better have a look at this. It explains everything about the Australian case." The beat cop fumbled to open the overstuffed dossier and slapped down a series of crude photograph of a bear with some anthropomorphized bananas. The chief's eyes narrowed as Maserati continued: "this is it, sir. The last piece of the puzzle. It explains everything- the unquenchable rage, the homicidal rampages, the unthinking bans! We got enough to put the Australian away for good-"
The chief cleared it away quickly and looked up at the new recruit. "Well, I'll be a cake racist." The veteran reached for his flask and chuckled before taking a long pull. Maserati beamed, his pride evident in his squeaky clean features. "Well, what are you waiting for, kid?" The chief growled. "You solved your first mystery. Get out there and call the district attorney!"
