I havent seen one benchmark that showcases maxed out resolution scale
its seen under video settings

if anyone is able to run bf4 in med and beyond then please post your specs below i really want to know to help me decide what gpu i should buy

So basically to see what setup you are running and how high you can turn up the Resolution Scale in video settings, also turn off AA because supersampling automatically puts it on, its more pricey than cheap anti aliasing

if you dont have fraps to check your FPS you could try input this in console

perfoverlay.drawfps 1

So if your up to the task, then please help me out, i am willing to buy a decent gpu but i want to know What can hold what In supersampling on ultra or med or w/e in W/e Resolution :thumbup1:

I have a FX 8320 oc'd with a asus DC2 7970 Oc'd. I have AA off, and can set the resolution scale to 1.5-2 on ultra. Anything higher than that lowers my frames to unplayable (30 and below.) i usually run it on ultra with it just set to 1 with 2x msaa. I like having 60fps :)

Thanks for reply,

so you mean if you put supersampling to 150% or 200% on ultra your fps dips to 30 and below?
if so still that 7970 is a beast card, i believe its got higher clock speeds than the 280

Literally everything is at its maximum and on in game for my monitor. I run at 1680x1020.

well if you have 200% resolution scale for 1680 res

then 1680 multiplied by 2
= 3360 resolution, thats very good

4k resolution or ultra hd is

3840 x 2160 pixels or 4096 x 2160 pixels

and 1080p multiplied by 4 is actually 4320, anyway just some fun facts

770 is a neat card but i found that if it has 4gb

Face that against the Amd R9 290, here check this out

they show the differences below, i honestly dont know much about all that technical jazz but it seems very similar and sometimes better than 770 but the 770 still prevails with small margins?

Im gonna have to wait until christmas to decide because amd has that mantle thing going on and new coolers coming out for the r9 cards(290, etc

the ones they have out now Are way too hot and i know some benchmarks showed that changing the cooler for better gave more performance

If the r9 290x and maybe just the 290 itself
equipped with mantle and the non reference coolers(custom coolers) it could be better than a 780 ti overclocked and better pricing
so who knows.

No no no lol. Just no. I will stop ya there. If you're buying an AMD R9 290, I suggest you spend the extra cash to purchase the 290X. It has similar performance to the Titan. Damn near the highest performing card out there. For its price point? Nothing really beats the R9 290X for its price point and speed. If all you're looking to do is play BF4 at its maximum settings I suggest not spending over $1000.00 on graphics cards alone but take a look at your CPU and RAM also.

i know but 290 is pretty close performance to the 290x and 290x is alot more expensive

plus the non reference cards will come out in december and they will run alot cooler and this will improve performance for the cards

i know the 290x is pretty much on par with the titan and sometimes surpasses it
thats why nvidia released the 780 ti but maybe if mantle ends up being a serious performance boost thats its hyped to be for the amd cards then hey
these cards just might make nvidia do another price drop
i sure hope this happens im crossing my fingers

i could buy two 770 or 780 in sli but sli isnt worth it, lots of bugs, not all games run smooth with it, it has its complications unfortunately

but im with you on this except i might settle with the 290 if mantle and the non reference cards do justice

If not i will buy a 770 or maybe 780 ti since nvidia has good cooling

The reason the 290X is more is because its a faster card. It might see the same performance output in similar games like crysis or battlefield but there is a reason a 290X is more then a 290. You're not just paying for an X to be added to the name. :p

well yea sure its better than the 290 but im just saying the 290x has been said and on benchmarks i have read, from reviews, tomshardware, linustechtips, etc
there is very little difference, its almost no point unless you really really want top of the line
its like a 6 percent difference in performance i mean thats nothing for a price difference of almost 200 dollars

and i have seen some sweet deals online with a little over 200 dollar difference, now thats a nice wad of cash
but thats just me i dont need the latest and absolute greatest

funny thing about it is, the 290 can be flashed to a 290x... and preform just as well

i have first gen i7 with a titan run res scale at 140 everything else max with motion blur off get 30 to max of my vsync and thats with a 1080p monitor getting a 1440p soon hope results wont suffer much
