I seem to be having issues with BF4, no matter what server I join, I can't seem to play longer than 30 seconds. I know my PC can run the game properly since it has done so in the past. And idk if it's the patch they just released on Dec 3rd, but this is the second time I've had this issue, except now the time I can play is a lot shorter and I don't get a message saying BF4 has crashed. Any help would be greatly be appreciated.

system specs:

OS: Win 7 Home Premium SP1 x64

Processor: Intel Core i3 2120 3.30GHz

RAM:6.00 GB

1TB HDD

It could be punkbuster is out of date, and you'll have to update it for BF4, or try doing repair install for the game.

Punkbuster should be up to date since I reinstalled it yesterday. I tried the repair install already too. It said no files were corrupt or missing and my game is up to date :(

What settings are you running at, because im at medium and i have an i5 2320? Could it be the application crashes because of to much CPU usage?!?

I'm running at medium as well soap. However this is what I keep it at and it was working perfectly fine up until yesterday =\ as for my cpu usage, i'm not exactly sure what it's at, that's one thing I keep forgetting to check in game

I was experiencing client side crashes once every couple of hours since launch then suddenly started having major problems about a week ago where I pretty much couldn't join anything without disconnect before launch, client crash immediately after launch, or frozen black screen. After some searching I found something that worked for me. I updated MS.NET from 4.0 to 4.5, reinstalled punkbuster manually, and created a user.cfg file in the main BF4 folder with the following console settings:

RenderDevice.Dx11Enable 1
RenderDevice.Dx11Dot1Enable 1
RenderDevice.Dx11Dot1RuntimeEnable 1
RenderDevice.TripleBufferingEnable 0
WorldRender.TransparencyShadowmapsEnable 0
WorldRender.MotionBlurEnable 0
WorldRender.MotionBlurForceOn 0
WorldRender.MotionBlurFixedShutterTime 0
WorldRender.MotionBlurMax 0
WorldRender.MotionBlurQuality 0
WorldRender.MotionBlurMaxSampleCount 0
WorldRender.SpotLightShadowmapEnable 0
WorldRender.SpotLightShadowmapResolution 256
WorldRender.LightTileCsPathEnable 0
RenderDevice.ForceRenderAheadLimit 0
PostProcess.DynamicAOEnable 0
PerfOverlay.DrawFps 1

The game has been rock solid for me since, not a single client side crash in the last week or so.

Once I've done that, I'll let you forty, thanks for that info :). Well I did that, and it let me play 1 or 2 games and now it's back to kicking me off after about 30 seconds =\

What is your Graphics card, and have you overclocked it substantially?
EDIT: Have you tried starting the game in SINGLEPLAYER? It may be a network issue and you might not know it,

I'm using a Nvidia GT 545, not overclocked, and I haven't tried single player since I last played the campaign

Try playing single player, it may be a multiplayer problem or a sever problem. Does this happen on all severs you try to join?

No, not any more, I did an uninstall/reinstall and it seems to be working fine now, thanks for all the helpful tips and advice everyone :)

You may want to upgrade to windows 8.
From what i heard windows 7 may conflict with battlefield

Yeah, I keep reading about that on other forums too xiteron. As it stands though, I can't afford Win 8...I'm gonna have to stick wtih Win 7 until I can get a job and get back on my feet

Does windows 7 really conflict with BF4? I don't like the interface of windows 8... but if it will cut down on the crash of Shanghai then maybe... maybe...

Yeah they are getting everyone to buy the new windows this way because they know they cant any other way...windows 8 is such an epic fail for pc's

Think I'll just leave every time Siege of Shanghai comes on, I refuse to use windows 8... no no no:(

The only problem I see with Windows 8 is if you're not using a touch screen which seems to be what it was designed for
