WiFi Extenders

I already have a 4 port router which has wireless built in to it. Unfortunately, the wireless only works within a 10 foot radius.

I'm looking for a wifi extender to be put on the other side of my house to create a wireless access point so I can use a tablet; when I decide which to get, in every room of my house.

I have a ranch house with no basement and I will probably be installing the extender in my attic.

So far, I've been looking at Cisco, TrendNet, Hawking's and Asus extenders. I'd like to know if any eGO members use an additional wifi extender for an wireless access point and what models they may have. And to recommend which models to get and which one's to stay away from. Thanks in advance.

I've been using an Amped Wireless extender for about a year now and it's got ups and downs. It does exactly what it's supposed to do in that it extended the wireless signal throughout the upstairs of the house with little effort, but it's a finicky little thing... When I'm watching Amazon Prime in my room at night it likes to drop the signal occasionally or even strangle the speed to a small fraction of what it should/can be, just to pop back up and play fine and dandy a few moments later.

Ah well, it was a fairly inexpensive one that was on sale at Costco at the time... Haven't used Cisco or Hawking myself, but I do have a TrendNet router that I've loved since buying it. Only downside with it is that not all of my wireless devices like it (my old PSP doesn't for example).

I have one its a netgear 600 series I think.. anywho it does its job but you only get half or so of the speed ud get from ur router. effective and useful though

If you want to go Pro i've heard good things about Ubiquiti Networks UniFi AP's.
