As you know, I come from the Counter Strike division... and in order to play Counter Strike all you need is a potato hooked up to an iPod Nano and you're set.

I just dumped my potato and iPod nano set up in the trash and replaced it with a sweet i7-4770k, 8GB of DDR3-1600 Memory, a Sapphire Radeon HD 7870 GHz OC Edition, and an ASRock Fatal1ty Gaming Motherboard. My monitor is a 24 inch 60 Hz 1920 x 1080 monitor.

Here's the scoop: My PC is beefy as heck; it plays Battlefield 3 and Crysis 2 Max juuuuust fine. League Of Legends even runs maxed out at 280 FPS. But Battlefield 4... ooohhh no. Battlefield 4 is a completely different story. I lag ALL the time, framerates drop a TON, and overall the game runs... kinda poorly. I have the final release AMD Catalyst 13.9 Driver for my video card.

Any help is appreciated! Once I get Battlefield 4 to run cleanly, I will join you guys! Fear my Sig Saurs!!!

use the newest BETA version of amd drivers. The driver you are using will be really bad on bf4 compared to the beta. The newest version should be 13.11 beta and came out on 12/3. Do an express uninstall all amd, reboot, install newest beta.

Also start with video settings at medium and move things up till you find the sweet spot. I'm not sure you can run ultra smoothly with 8 gigs. You'll just have to play around till you find what works best for you.

I'm afraid of the beta drivers though. The last ones I downloaded caused my PC to blue-screen when I was playing BF4.

Funny thing is the Beta worked fantastically... so I am so confused. 8GB of memory should be plenty to run BF4 smoothly. I never have anything running in the background besides Origin and Steam anyway.

You will definitely be able to run on at least High or Ultra you'll never use more than 8gb in almost any task ever, unless your video rendering. Make sure you have NET Framework 4.5 or 4 installed BEFORE you install the beta drivers.
Happy Gaming!
