Folks,

I am writing this to tender my resignation as DoD:S Division Leader, effective today. This may come as a surprise to some of you, but hopefully most of you have noticed throughout the past couple months that I have been spending less time playing DoD:S and working for eGO in general. This is in large part due to real life complications; I am reaching the end of my college education and looking for work, and the time and effort I am able to commit towards eGO has been decreasing because of it. Please understand that this is not a decision I made lightly. I have been contemplating stepping down for several months as I predicted my scheduled time for eGO to diminish. Furthermore, to be clear, this is a decision I made completely on my own, asking to resign of my own accord.

I joined the division in 2008 and have had a whirlwind of experiences and emotions along the way spanning from sadness to enthrallment and excitement. I can still see the na?ve and ignorant high-school student that joined into the Foreign Legion House before it was torn apart by a nasty divergence of opinion. Some of the veterans reading may recall that this incident marked the beginning of the dismantling of Houses. It also marked one of the toughest decisions I have had to make regarding eGO; was I to stay with my first and new gaming community, eGO, or was I to leave eGO and stick with most of the friends that I had made who had created a break-off clan led by Welsh Toast? Well, you all know which decision I made, and the last time I wondered if that was a wise decision for me to make, is no longer in memory.

This community has been a massive learning experience for me, but more importantly, it has been an immense amount of fun and enjoyment. From the depressing times of getting passed up for promotions, to the over-the-top moments of laughing with friends in Ventrilo and running Realism events, I would not have had it any other way. I am incredibly thankful for every moment of time I have spent in eGO, and I am most thankful towards you, the people of this division that made it all possible and great. Truth be told, DoD:S as a game would have gone away years ago, if the people playing it were not unique and amiable.

I would like to specifically thank a handful of individuals. I will not be naming many, and I could not, as clich? as that thought is. There are so many members of this community that are special to me, that it would be a disservice to you and the community if I were to name said members.

Sumac and Ronpaul – A rather spotted history with both names here. In their heydays, these two gentlemen were the most fun I could find within the entirety of eGO. Their attitude, intelligence, and character put our division over the top in times of need, and gave our division a crucial injection of competitive spirit needed to keep DoD:S alive for the past couple years. Their contributions to competitive events such as the Comp Team and Realism Nights are not to be forgotten.

Spray and Duality – Mentors to me, in a way. Spray and Duality always let me know when I was doing something wrong, and more importantly, when I could do better. Spray is still around and helpful whenever I needed help understanding things technical; his dedication is also paramount to the division’s success over the years. I looked up to these two tremendously, and you can decide whether or not they were good role models for me to follow.

MegsATagger – Even though we do not always see eye to eye on things, Megs and I have been around for a long, long time. While I have known her, she has always put the division first before anything, and is a role model for other leadership members and those who inspire to become leadership, to follow. She also has the diplomatic skills that I lack. Ermahgerd, thanks for all the good memories, you add a lot of life and fun to our division.

Chuck Norris – While I have not known Chuck for nearly as long as the other names on this list, he has made my job as a Division Leader immensely simpler and less stressful. One of the few individuals qualified for tasks such as demo viewing and other behind-the-scenes work, you have done magnificently with any task I have given you and I cannot express my appreciation for that in words.

Slayr357 – The father of our great division, Slayr was the one who field promoted me to eG in Avalanche two weeks after I joined the community. I respect him for putting me in my place when I needed it, and for giving me the respect I deserved later on. Lastly, I don’t think any of this would have been possible without your love and care while the division grew from a single server, and for that alone I am thankful.

Nible – My favorite loudmouthed Englishman. Responsible for recruiting me into eGO, and endless hours of fun in DoD:S, CoH, WoT, and others. I wish you were still around and active, but I understand how real life can be. (P.S. What a goon)

Silent Ghost – Growing up overseas, I have always found it easier to relate and converse to those from outside the US, who hold a unique worldview. You have always been there for me to talk to and joke around with. I cannot count the number of hours we have talked about everything from politics and religion, and video games and silly pictures on the internet. If there was a single person that I could trust with anything, no matter what it was, you are that person. My favorite average Finn (Or Swede, same thing).

Now, looking into the future…I am being moved into a fairly new group of leadership called Line Leadership. This group of leadership is for those who have to step down from their positions for whatever reason, but who may be recalled into work when they are able or needed. I will still maintain my DL powers, but will not be working for the DoD:S division. What this means is that I will still be able to help in an emergency if a DL is needed, but I ask that you turn to divisional leadership first, and only come to me as a last resort. That being said, I will not be able to guarantee my time as I have in the past. I hope you guys understand, but if you have questions you can ask me or Lungbuster.

Lastly, I am leaving this division in extremely capable and willing hands. I have worked hard over the past couple years to help ensure your division runs like a well-oiled machine, and that machine will keep running without me. Your current leadership team is in my opinion, the most capable in eGO, and this will not change anytime soon. With all that said, I will still be on Steam, you will still see me with my tags worn proudly, and I will hop on Ventrilo when I can. Feel free to pm me if you want to chat or ask questions, I am not going anywhere. You guys are the best, and if there is one thing I hope I passed onto you all, it is best summed up in the following quotation:

Take the risk of thinking for yourself, much more happiness,
truth, beauty, and wisdom will come to you that way.

Damn it man I'm crying! :P

I know I've always been a bit of a twat to you, but I really have appreciated the time and effort you have put into this division. My first event was you running realism, I adored it, and it was then I decided I wanted to join DoDs. So thanks for that.

I hope you come back for realisms, you made first pick so easy.

Thank you for all you've done over the years.
I think I remember playing with you in 2008/2009 when we had a 24/7 Palermo server...good times.

Take care.

Thanks for all your hard work Blue! See you around in the servers when you're on!

Thanks for everything you've done for the division and eGO as a whole.

See you around in Ventrilo and in game!

Thank you for all you have done for the division. Hope to see you around/back soon.

Thank you for your service and good luck with the job hunt!

!up Blue. your awesome blue the short time ive gotten to play with you. I hope you the best and ill see you around on the servers!

Blue you've been around since I joined so Its really painful to see you go. You were the person who gave me my wake up call when I was a wee e and had acted like a total doofus on Flash. At that very moment I turned my entire attitude towards everything around and got to the point I am today because of that one situation; I owe it all to you, man. Best of luck in the future and I hope to see you later on down the road.

Bler,

You might not know it, but I've always looked up to you. You've been there for me ever since I received my e. You were an amazing leader and you will be greatly missed.

Best of luck Blue I will miss you and all the help you have given to me. I have found you to be a generous person who will help at any time. I am sure you will do good at what ever you go for.

LONDON BLITZ

Glad to see you'll still be staying around-ish! Thanks for all the work you've done in the division!
