CS Division thoughts/improvements

Hey guys! With Holiday break approaching very fast, and a little more free-time for a good percentage of members, I'd like to ask what you'd like to hear what your honest thoughts are about our servers. Do you love them? Do you think there is something that could be done to improve them? Honestly reply what you think! The feedback can, and will help leadership try to shape the division. Because, as we all know things are always changing, and with changes, we, as a whole must change with it!


So, tl;dr... Thoughts/Improvements you think could be gone to CS:S servers, the division as a whole, and what you would like to see change.

i believe that we need a system where lets say 10 members get on a server invite the randoms or friends that are not egos on their friends list that way we don't have an entire server of egos we can fill more servers at a time and at the same time we can keep each server filled for a longer period of time

Well, it might not be a good comparison, but in league of legends we do not always have a turnout at events because LoL is a very time consuming game. Especially at this time of year when finals and christmas yahooligans are in effect people do not always have the time. Give it some time before you can get a user base large enough to due whatever you want to accomplish.

I see more and more eGO members on my friends list playing CS:GO but almost all of them are playing competitive instead of spending some time on our server and try to get attention to it.

If we are going to make any progress in CS:GO we need players recruited and our server filled.

For what it's worth, I've had some talks with the ECs and the new server filling team and I believe that they have a CS:GO event in the works. We had a good non-official event on there a month ago and saw the server rank go up about 800 spots. I think that if we have regular events, like we do on most servers in most divisions, that server will take off. As imak said, there's plenty of eGO people playing GO.

As for the people that prefer competitive GO, why don't we have a eGO CS:GO tournament? Have a sign up and throw all the names in a hat and pick teams randomly. Then set up a playoffs style bracket. I think that getting more people into playing competitively without having to be good enough to be on our league teams would drive some interest. It would probably also help people get better and make our league teams that much better. Not to mention it would be fun to go head to head with other eGO members in a more competitive environment.

That sounds awesome. The one for source went well and was a lot of fun to participate in. I'm willing to help with rewards.

I disagree with needing more GO players. We have plenty of people that play GO. The server gets no support from leadership. When was the last time there was a GO event? When was the last time there was a push from the top to fill the GO server? I have never seen a member of CS leadership on our GO server, even when we had our unofficial event and there were people on the server all day. Until the server gets some support it will remain empty no matter how many members we have. If you read the Jail thread you'll see that a number of people responded that they weren't playing Jail anymore because they were playing GO and haven't really been on Source as much lately. They're just not playing GO on our server because there's no incentive to do so.

You bring absolutely nothing productive to the conversation, only whining and complaining. Casual play in CS:GO has just recently been getting more and more popular as more people switch. Most of eGO CS members focus on CS:S. So, YES, they are absolutely right in that we do need MORE CS:GO Players. So, please just stop speaking if you don't know the details.

Moreover, you haven't seen me on the servers? Please ask someone, ANYONE, if and how much I play GO. In fact, who was on the server, OUR server, filling it last night? The reason you don't see me on the servers, in GO, or CSS, is because you, yourself, are never on them.

Please, please, just stop. No MORE TROLLING.

Enough of that.

As for the discussion, leadership along with the Server Filling Team and various other teams are in the midst of re-developing methods of getting our GO server along with our CSS servers filled again. I'll keep everyone updated. We actually have a meeting on ventrilo on thursday to discuss further options.
