TS3 Discussion Thread

Teamspeak is very awesome and provides tons of features ventrilo doesn't provide. (Permissions, channel icons, etc)

I like ts3, the only thing that frustrates me is the TTS and the 3 long word sentence that comes when someone joins my channel, or someone who is in my channel leaves to go to another channel.

I'm not that techy when it comes to changing things in files, but it's more of a hassle then it was with vent.

Go to settings >options > client > switched and uncheck everything there to fix that vicki

Go to settings >options > client > switched and uncheck everything there to fix that vicki

Or if you do self -> sound pack -> sounds deactivated it gives the same result. And it's easier.

Mumble does have better support for gamers... Overlays in games and mumble is a lot more dumbed down.

I have had some problems with vent lately, so i think it's a good change.

Also the experience i have had with mumble haven't been great. apparently it didn't like me to have sound on my pc.

Teamspeak 3 > any other voice program. Much more customizable and user friendly. plus it does not have those annoying mic sounds mumble and vent do when people talk...

I used to use ts3 all the time. But when I joined eGO I got used to vent. lol Now I must get used to ts3 again. But really, it's not a bad thing, ts3 is an amazing program to use.

The only problem I'm having is that some games I play I use an Xbox controller. In Vent I could have one of my controller buttons activate the PTT. In TS I have to go to Settings > Options and switch from Keyboard & Mouse Only to Default in order for it to recognize the XBox controller. The problem is that when I do that it won't recognize my keyboard for PTT. So, I'm going to have to switch back and forth between games unless somebody knows a workaround for this. I have not found one through Google.

Other than that I don't really notice a difference.

I've used vent for over 10 years and am happy with the quality. However since I installed a new sound card I'm having extreme ping spikes with it only when I am in DoD. I'm pretty sure its a setting or something. I have used TS a few times in the past and although I think Vent quality was better, it may be I just didn't use it long and didn't set things up like they needed to be. The one thing that matters to me is the ability to adjust individual people. In Ventrilo you can, when I used TS you could not or if you could I didn't see it. I'll gladly give TS a try if only to get rid of my ping spikes. If anyone knows how to adjust mic's individually, please let me know. Thanks!
