My girlfriend and I just recently started playing DayZ - First timers.

Few problems (standalone version, fyi):

- Endless amounts of empty houses. Can never find unlooted servers, etc. Dying of starvation my first two times around.

- Lack of a scope (Can't see the horizon, the point, the goal of the game)

- Lonely game? There's literally no multiplayer (Yet? I hope.)

- There's no way to even talk to others in the world and I'm sure most people just want to shoot you for your can of beans.

Any help with these issues/answers or general "Ill get on and give you beans" help? :P

I have tons of food/water I find in almost every town/city I visit. You just have to be very thorough. Try looking in houses in third person (If you don't know how or haven't press Enter to go into third person.) By pressing TAB as well it will show you all the items that are in your vicinity and allow you to move them into your inventory. It's a lot easier to do that then trying to hand pick everything up! It also helps show you things that you've missed.

There is no goal but to survive and have fun.

I've killed around 10 people so far. I'm always playing with people, you just gotta remember. It's a huge map.

If you hold caps lock that activates your voice communication so nearby players can hear you, alternatively I believe you press / or . and that will open a text chat allowing you to type to players near by.

Hope this helps! =)
