Wireless Adapters for Gaming?

Hey!

I'm rocking an old Cisco AM10 wireless adapter, since I moved my PC into my bedroom and away from both of my 48 port ethernet switches (don't ask...), and since I have no Cat-5 cable running to my room, I have stooped down to wireless for now.

But here's my prob: My adapter heats up pretty badly after about 5-10 minutes of activity (gaming, YouTube, etc) and my internet speed slows down, causing multiplayer games to lag like mad.

Here's my question: I need a new network adapter that supports high download speeds and won't cause any problems when streaming or gaming. Any options? I don't know a lot about wireless adapters.

Roommate used this on my backup gaming desktop. Was able to play CS with ping under 150, no noticeable lag or connection issues. Only lag issues is from my crappy TWC service and router, not the adapter. I recommended this elsewhere on other threads for the same purpose. And it's only $16.

I used to have an old Cisco Am10 and it crapped out on me within 6 months...was constantly dropping connection and was having problems connecting.

I've been using a D-Link DWA130 Wireless N adapter for the past year or so and it works great.

Downloading torrents with the cisco am10 - 100kB/s max...
Downloading torrents with the DLink - 400kb/s - 600kB/s

Gaming with the Cisco AM10 was impossible
Gaming with the Dlink - CS:Source - 75ping usually

My DL speed from Charter is 110 down I believe, so anything that achieves 50+ of that would work, since I know that you can't normally achieve a full 110 down through wireless.
