Counter-Strike: Source We Need a Rotation Server!

What?

I'm pretty sure leadership doesn't remove servers if they don't do well after a few months. Look at office, it was almost as bad as jail and we brought it back to what it is now. From my understanding, leadership gives a server time to recover before just strait up removing it. You got to remember, Jail used to be the heart of the division, no point in immediately removing it just because its been doing bad.

I agree, Leadership gives lots of things a chance and is open to many ideas. None of these are decisions taken lightly. CS:S Minigames was brought back in January of this year and was given almost 6 months to show what it could or couldn't do. the CS:GO server has gone through various types of gameplay to try and get more users on it. I'm not even sure how long highschool was kept around, but it wasn't a snap decision.

I do disagree with the comparison of Office to Jail, however. Looking at 2014 as an example as we are now almost done with Month 8 I'm curious as to when Office was doing as poorly as Jail this year?

In 2014, Office's worst rank was in May (991). It has since gotten as high as 350 with some great pushes by members. (ExOH and others)

Jail, on the other hand, started out 2014 almost 900 spots lower (1,845) and reached even lower points in April (2,661) and July (2,663). Jail has fallen to below the rank of the CS:S Event Server (Currently 2,655).

Even with the Jail contest the past few weeks, the highest Jail has gotten was a rank of 1,960 and it has been steadily losing rank during the competition after hitting the recent 'high' point; Currently 2,419.

Anyway, I'm not sure what this has to do with a rotation server, but I thought I'd chime in with some facts regarding Jail and Office

Why are you looking at ranks? I'm pretty sure he means it was almost as bad as jail, in terms of the amount of people playing on it daily. Jail only has that low of a rank because it was dead for a longer amount of time...

Why am I looking at server rank? Because that is what Leadership uses to see how a server is doing (at least that is what I thought). If nobody plays on a server, the rank goes down. There is a direct correlation.

Yes I know, but what I am saying is that office could be dead for a few weeks, or a month, and jail could have been dead for a whole month before that. The jail rank is still going to be lower than the office rank, even though they were both dead for a good amount of time.

I think that there is a large contingent of players online who would like a rotation server. It helps to keep a server full because players will get tired of one map for several hours. As the minigames and jail server are never that full, I think a good way to possibly try it out would be to make a combination jail/minigames server. Then we can use the other server to try a rotation based server. This way, we get a trial and aren't having to add any more servers. Thoughts?

Not trying to be a negative nelly
1. Jail server is done (i.e. it was announced Sept 7th is its last day)
2. Minigames was switched over to CS:GO minigames back in July.
3. No idea what the jail server will become (if anything). I don't know what is physically running on that server other than jail, but I'm sure something will take its place (CS or otherwise)

Rotational server!!!!!!!!!!!!!! keep this thread alive :) Italy, Piranisi, Inferno, Nuke, Aztec. I am missing several other good ones but I know people would love Aztec... 5 solid maps would be perfect js...

pls no

At least make a rotation server with 3-4 maps and see how it goes. Put High School, Nuke, Cbble, Piranesi, Train, Aztec, Assault, Inferno, Inferno, Inferno and so on.
See the subtle !!!!!!!!INFERNO!!!!!!!! in my post. Just to be sure add INFERNO

Every time we try a rotation server, it just ends up dying a slow and painful death. I'd say just to leave the issue alone.

i remember back in the day when there was a Rotation server and it was always just seaNNN, SRG, hoodie, keny, and a few others that only ever played it after the first month it was added. stayed for about a half of a year barely hitting 10 people most days. good times, goood times.

not sure but i believe this post could probably be closed now thet've tried it many thimes in past an never worked out and i can understand why besides we need to build our other servers up more

and this thread is like beating a dead horse really thanks thou

We've had a rotation server before... no one played it, what makes it different now? Besides, seems like Dust 2, Italy and Office are doing fine. Why change again.

Why is this thread still active? Thought we established not to like...2 months ago.

Anyway, no go. They don't work, never have. Never will.

Well a lot of servers are gone from css now or dead.. TG gaming isn't really alive anymore so there really isn't any rotational servers to compete with are there?
