Guaranteed you wont find one that will last you 18 months and has comfort+great sound quality and mic quality under $40.00. It is near impossible unless you found a coupon that is like 85% off some high end headset. Which none exist atm...
You're looking at picking up a very low end head set with very mediocre quality.
Well, alright, let's just disregard the price for now. I just want to see what's available since I really need a headset, since I only have two earbuds and a mic that doesn't work for right now.

It's a cheap 5.1 Surround USB Headset, the mic included is pretty darn good. I've been using it for a year so far and the only thing that has broken was because I broke it with my chair whilst spinning around like an idiot

Just as an FYI - Those are fully plastic. Those are easily prone to breaking just because its all plastic. But good luck anyways.

Im not saying an entirely plastic headset is terrible and I am not saying its great either.
Im just sayin' that if you purchase an all plastic headset I wouldnt expect it to last more than 12 months.
Partial plastic/metal headsets are a better quality and worth the expense.Very true. I was thinking of Dick Clark actually when I said it.

I have a set of Turtle Beach X12s. They were $60 and are fantastic headsets; I've had them for over a year now with no issues at all, the microphone sounds amazing, and the drivers are beefy 50 mm amplified drivers, so you get a lot of punching highs and rumbling lows.
Battlefield 4 especially sounds amazing only because when you pick up that sexy M82 and fire it, the headphones rumble. Add those chaotic explosions, battle-cries, and rapid gunfire from your teammates and enemies and you have one sick gaming experience.
If you want a surround sound headset, then the DX12s will do great because they incorporate an in-line Dolby Digital Surround sound amplifier which emulates a surround sound effect.
But if you're going all in and want the best of the best, while sticking to a good price, then you're looking at getting yourself a pair of Z Seven headsets. Headsets cannot physically have more than 2 speakers in them. Hence 7.1 DOLBY SURROUND SOUND. Its emulated through windows 7 and is not true surround sound. You dont need it to listen to music or play games. Your brain does the positioning for you nowadays since 90% of games and headphones are all optimized for this.
The amplifier doesnt help bass. The amplifier does exactly what it says. Amplifies. AKA makes it sound louder. Louder =/= not always better.
Dont fall for surround sound gimmicks. Settle for something that will sound nice no matter what and not have the high price tag because of what flamelauncher said about turtle beach headsets... which are mediocre compared to most high end gaming headsets.

I own a pair of Westone 3 in-ear headphones, which have 3 drivers in each side.
That said, Turtle Beach headsets and gaming headsets in general are terrible and real 7.1 surround sound is 2 front channels, 2 side channels, 2 rear channels, and a subwoofer. I don't think they managed to stuff a subwoofer into that headset.
So yes, it is emulated.

Regardless if it has more than 1 speaker in each cup, The quality of those speakers get downgraded vs. just the two original speakers. Putting more speakers in doesnt boost the quality.

As much as I love you, this isn't true. I'm not sure where you got that from. When executed properly, adding extra drivers into headphones can allow certain drivers to focus on certain frequency ranges, allowing it to reproduce a certain sound more accurately. Many high-end IEMs have multiple drivers, such as the Unique Melody Miracle, which has 6. That's 6 per side.
