As much as I love you, this isn't true. I'm not sure where you got that from. When executed properly, adding extra drivers into headphones can allow certain drivers to focus on certain frequency ranges, allowing it to reproduce a certain sound more accurately. Many high-end IEMs have multiple drivers, such as the Unique Melody Miracle, which has 6. That's 6 per side.

The problem is, once again, is you're spending over $500 on something that wont even be worth it unless you're a high end record producer or record company.

No headset above $300.00 is worth it to the average person playing video games and listening to music.

Getting back on topic:

I use the Plantronic GameCom 780s. They are not true surround sound and they aren't the highest quality headphones you could ever buy, but they do a good job and aren't too expensive. I was able to get a pair of open box ones off of Amazon for $23 this last summer. I have been using them since the beginning of August and they still look, feel and sound like brand new.

I picked up my Westone 3 (3 drivers per ear) on sale for $150. Many enthusiasts can drop $1-2K on a pair of headphones. My point was that adding drivers doesn't necessarily equal an audio quality loss, which is what you appear to have been implying unless I read it incorrectly.

Headsets cannot physically have more than 2 speakers in them. Hence 7.1 DOLBY SURROUND SOUND. Its emulated through windows 7 and is not true surround sound. You dont need it to listen to music or play games. Your brain does the positioning for you nowadays since 90% of games and headphones are all optimized for this.

The amplifier doesnt help bass. The amplifier does exactly what it says. Amplifies. AKA makes it sound louder. Louder =/= not always better.

Dont fall for surround sound gimmicks. Settle for something that will sound nice no matter what and not have the high price tag because of what flamelauncher said about turtle beach headsets... which are mediocre compared to most high end gaming headsets.
