New to DOTA 2

I'm thinking about playing DOTA 2 because Planetside is a bit dull and boring right now (even though I schedule the events for it), so I'm just wondering on what the game is about before I play so I know a bit going into it.

Dota 2 is free to play and has a few in-game tutorials you can look at to help learn the game. Dota 2 has a very steep learning curve and can be quite frustrating at the beginning, but never fear, you will get the hang of it.
