[blockquote]Two new maps for Valve's Team Fortress 2 will hopefully arrive within the next two months, the studio has informed Shacknews.

One of the new arenas is a remake of Team Fortress Classic's Badlands map, with an emphasis on more vertically-oriented gameplay due to the presence of control points on towering spires.

"Our estimate is that both these maps should be out within the next 2 months," Valve employee Robin Walker told Shacknews. "We expect to ship other new content before that."

That other content includes the forthcoming Medic achievement pack, which will add several new achievements for the Medic as well as a significant gameplay tweak for the class.

"It's a large scale modification to the core of the game," Walker hinted. "It'll debut in a limited fashion through the Medic first, but it'll be affecting all classes eventually."

"We're really looking forward to the community reaction," he continued. "We're really excited about where TF2 will be going over the next year."[/blockquote]

I don't like the idea of a change to the core gameplay. The game seems too perfect the way it is. Hopefully its something to do with crit rockets pwning you less. ;)

Always fear when Valve starts changing things . . . look how long we waited for TF2. That said, badlands was a great map and a lot of fun . . . but I want them to add the game mode of hunted. Who here played that and loved the devil out of it? My only concern if they do make it, is how I'll stay alive as the president with MOP playing . . . . (guess I'll start working on that now)

;)
6.

Hopefully they won't change it the same way they changed CSS, as in, make weapons weaker than they should be (scout), and make some weapons too good to the point of being jokingly easy to use (awp), I just hope this doesn't happen to the TF2.
It seems to be a very well made system of Checks And Balances, a spy will take out a sniper, but the pyro will kill the spy, etc...

And I don't understand how they could change the medic, I see nothing wrong with them, the bonesaw is fantastic, the needle gun is scary good in the right hands, and the only possible change is Ubercharge, wihich is perfect and balanced as it is.

I loved Hunted! It was so hard to find a decent team though. I hope they dont try to make the sniper rifle more real, that is why i quit playing COD and DOD. At least they are supporting the game and releasing more maps, fantastic!!

I hope they release a set of achievements for all the classes. Might give me more of a reason to play the ones that aren't appealing at first glance.

This is why I play the sniper class, its so cartoony, it makes sense as to why the sniper always hits.

The only thing I would not mind being changed is the health on sentries, maybe lower them just a bit.

Sentry health seems like a lot, until you are the engineer desperately trying to wrench it back into shape while a heavy rips it to sheds with a chaingun.

As of now, TF2 is perfect. Everything is balanced, and just right. I don't know much about 'vertical gameplay' so if someone cares to share that'd be nice.

Anyways, I'm looking forward to the new maps, they seem cool.

I hope they give the medics back the ability to infect others like what was in tfc, that's pretty much the only thing im dissapointed in. Well, maybe not the only thing, scouts and spys should be able to uncover enemy spies.

So true!

Engies don't need nurfing. yea the SGs are powerfull....but on the downside, you can only have 1... it is not mobile...and if you happen to get to far away from it, the sappers take it down in a heartbeat.

And as for the medics... I would LOVE to see the infection come back... I enjoy playing medic but it makes my kill/death ratio go in the crapper. That would help a bit

I thought the map was fun, but where was the demoman? :( Demoman gets no love.

Exactly my confusion. To me, the medic is just right (just as every class is). I have no idea what they can do that will make the medic more effective.

I certainly hope that they don't bring back infections. They worked very hard to take out abilities that could easily be used to grief the team. Infections really harmed gameplay as a jerk that had a friend on the other team would purposefully get infected and stand in the spawn grabbing all the health as he infected everyone. Even if the griefing was unintentional, a newbie who didn't know what was going on would stand in the spawn doing the same thing. Either way, the infections caused a loss of control on the team where a single player could hinder his entire team's ability to play.

You do have a good idea about uncovering spies. Since pyros are the primary spy checker currently, maybe they will give one or more classes the ability to be an effective spy checker.

I forgot about the way the infection use to spread.......

how about making the infection part of a crit with the needle gun and it only infecting the person hit.... Cause I know I have ran up behind somebody, hit them with 3-5 needle crits in a row and they were still able to turn around and kill me with 1/4 health left.
Too underpowered IMO

No way, they really don not need to make the spies life any harder than it is at the moment. Pyro's are SO unbelievably annoying for spies as it is, we don't need even more annoyances as it is.

when i first started playing i thought, "I NEED MY POISON MEDIC!" cuz that was like the most fun thing to do in tfc, but now i see that the way they made medic now is absolutely perfect. and change to him would be a hindrance.

as for spy checkers i think that would be a great ability for a medic or engineer to have. Medics always watching his allies and Engineers watching his buildings. I find that when im either medic or engineer i tend to catch the spys more. but then we gota ask ourselves, do we really wana nerf spys? are they so over powered? iono..
